Thanks and Wow ! Sometimes you just wish you werent in bangalore ! The ex-showroom comes to around 785K ish i guess, that is around 50K over Punes exshowroom and 25K over Chennai !!!

Also, 25K for insurance in Bangalore and 17K in Chennai ??? Chennai not giving a zero dep insurance ?

Still a better proposition than the Striple though ! ~9.5 lac on road !

      Guys,
I would suggest you to buy from Pune and ride to Bangalore. You will save good amount of money which you can spend on buying riding gear and accessories.

Buy insurance from HDFC ergo and you should get zero dep policy for 18K in Bangalore. This will bring down OTR to 9.12L

When i bought Z last year, Pune Ex-showroom price was 7.9L and it was 8.2 and 8.3L in Chennai and Blr resp. I had written an email to kawasaki officials asking them why such a difference and as expected never got a response.

I still wonder why Bangalore Kawa guys are not showing discount on ex-showroom ? I am strongly feeling, this is because they have stock piled up and not ready to give away for lower price.

Regarding insurance, one need not rely on what showroom offers. So that shouldn\'t be a problem as long as the ex-showroom reflects correct value.

If you think otherwise, your IDV will reflect higher on insurance though not very important unless you plan to sell sooner.

You just have to catch hold of a good agent ! Not a big deal.

You can catch hold of an agent or do it yourself since Pune dealership will give you all docs for registration.

All dealerships including pune, chennai & delhi are selling old stocks. Kawasaki has not imported new stock after Oct-14. Even a sales executive from khivraj confirmed the same.
He also said that prices have been reduced to gain advantage of Triumph ST fiasco.

I would say buy insurance from Hdfc ergo or Bharti Axa as no one offers cashless claims for these superbikes.

Can\'t imagine myself driving the Z from Pune to bangalore from the showroom when the most I have riden all my life is a petty R15
I guess we have to do with the extra amount.

Normally when the prices in a place are higher or increase higher, they fall higher too but this looks like an exception where its different both ways ! Could be that Khivraj doesn\'t want to extend the decrease in profits. Is there any info on the length of the offer ? Is it like in Pune, 31st Mar or has this been reduced too ?

The sales executive at the indiranagar showroom told they used to offer HDFC Ergo but seemingly the claims were issue and the bikes stayed at the workshops for months without a clearance from Ergo, so I am a bit skeptical about them.

A query from the owners though, does the heat produced during traffic crawls stay high after buying the bike and reduce considerable after 1st servicing ?

For a bar end weight, kawasaki bangalore svc guys took over 3 weeks time. I bet they will take good amount of time whether you claim insurance or not. Its apparent that these guys get low margin on bike sale and hence they are not reducing ex-showroom price. Look even kawasaki seems to have no control Last time i rode a bike was in 2007 and hence i choose to buy in blr.Don\'t worry about heat in city traffic. I never felt its too hot before & after 1st service.

Yeah, there might be showroom ride next sunday to Kolar coffee day for, like you said, test rides. As per Mr John, he would invite me if that is the case.
~969000 (830000 ex show room) and might increase by around 4K in a few weeks. how much was it when you got it ?

Also, I saw a green Z800 in N S Paliya at around 1030 in the night. Coincidence since that was the first one I saw on the road and on the same day, I had ridden it as well. Or maybe I was hallucinating or the signs from higher powers

Did you decide on buying the Z ? When are you picking !

Yes i did. A back to back TD of the Z800 and the Striple last weekend and my decision was made. Will get it next month

Next sunday is a highway test drive arranged for me, that never happened since I posted about this above.
What about you ? Prices stay lower till 31st March 2015.

I'm yet to take highway TD before deciding. I'm not even turning towards triumph, kinda not syncing with me.

I had decided strongly against the Triumph after the 'incident'. Later I wondered if I would miss out on something so gave it another try right after another TD of the Z800. The clutch did it for me.
In the traffic, as I would use it everyday, the clutch of the Z need not be pressed to any extent at low crawling speeds unlike the Striple that needs to be played with continuously to not stall it which is probably due to the super long 1st gear. The Z800 is much easier to keep moving at 10kmph behind an auto than the Striple. Also, you could probably ride on 3rd the whole day on the Z800.

Also, the sound of the Striple at RPMs over 3-4K is orgasmic but, below that mark, is plain irritating to me which, again, would be a problem in traffic. The Z800 would hardly even produce a noteworthy sound till 4-5K RPM but suddenly turns into a heavenly harp after 5-5.5K rpm.

Striple has the advantage of grabbing less attention with its look though.

Also, if you have any queries, please contact Kawasaki from their 'contact us' link in their website. They will answer within a few days. Don't believe a thing that the sales rep at the showroom tells you.
