A point to instigate though here, 600cc and 1000cc category serve their respective purpose, undoubtedly 600cc stand in league towards performance, but it cannot equalize or excel a 1000cc supersports segment, it is more related on the rider abilities, a professional on 600 can anytime beat a 1000cc novice or intermediate on a track, but equalize rider abilities, 600cc supersports will get beaten upfront irrespective of twisties/straigh/mix circuit track.
thanks a lot Abhiraj and yes Daytona is really very refined bike. And I would go ahead to further add to what you have mentioned regarding comparison on 600 & 1000 cc bikes that is is important to extract maximum potential from the bikes. It is relatively hard to extract maximum from the bigger bikes than smaller. So between the two intermediate riders, good possibility that 600 cc can be the winner on tracks as they are performance oriented however between two advanced racers the winner would be 1000cc segment. Therefore people with intermediate riding skills have reported tp clock better timings on Daytona than any 1000 cc bike because they could not fully utilise the additional power of 1000 cc bikes and so failed to offset the advantage of light weight of 600 cc bike. Baring few most riders are only intermediate riders. I hope you agree Abhiraj.
I intend to personally do tracks on my Daytona and other 1000 cc bikes to give personal take on the advantages and disadvantages on both the segments on track.

Not fully utilize the additional power boils down again on the rider's inability to justice such machines, moreover the beefy torque in most liter class kicks in from mid range while in most 600's it is spread across, with light weight and torque spread 600 indeed has its indisputable advantage.
But hey, you are not talking w.r.t a 600 category but emphasize your 'Daytona' here.. well I understand that, as you now own one!! This piece of machine will surely uphold your heart with contentment years and years long.

Well I don't intend to be partial with Daytona though. I have driven 1000cc a bit and that's why gave my bit of opinion. Nevertheless I would myself ride on track Daytona and other litre bikes before updating on the same in the future for more realistic facts.

            Heating on Daytona

To be honest when the bike was delivered to me I was informed that they have filled normal petrol as all triumph bikes have their fuel pumps reworked for Indian conditions. No clue what Triumph India is actually carrying out but that looks straight that they have filled NORMAL petrol which is 89 Octane! Extra premium petrol is 91 Octane and Speed is 93 Octane and above. Well I rode the first 30 Km on the factory filled petrol and boy my hair inside my Levis Jeans seemed to burn off. It is normal that higher CC bikes especially when new gets heated up quite a bit but this was getting bit too much probably in the realms of Yamaha R1!
After riding the bike for 30 km or so I got the tank full with 93 octane Speed. Not only I could see performance improvements but there was a significant reduction in heating. Now with proper rotation of gears as per traffic condition and speed, heat is barely felt. On clear highways you just cant make out any heat whatsoever. Even in traffic conditions heat felt is very little or within comfort limits.
Day before yesterday when I visited Triumph service centre Gurgaon I saw that Triumph has different Maps for different settings. Like they have different Maps for bike fitted with Arrow exhaust, for European conditions with at least 97 octane and Map for Indian and Brazilian bikes for 91 octane fuel atleast. This corresponds to extra premium grade fuel which atleast to be used and not normal fuel as quoted by Triumph dealer!
So recommended fuel for Triumph bikes is 91 Octane or higher. Probably they have Mapped the bikes as per Indian conditions and not tweaked the fuel pump!

Correct me if i am wrong but I guess you are getting confused between RON and octane ratings. RON (research octane number) is actually less when a fuel is expressed in octane rating. So its not 91 octane but 91 RON. 98 RON is actually 93 octane and NOT 98 octane. Likewise Bharat Petroleum sells Speed and Speed 97 octane fuel which is 93 octane (98 RON) and 97 octane respectively.
It would be more clear if someone can throw some light on the fuel ratings. I read the fuel ratings from BP website and their price.

Awesome Dude. She is the best looking super sport money can buy. Just wanted to ask you, whether you faced any knocking with the regular fuel or is it just heating up? Also I believe Triumph recommends 95 RON for Daytona and the same is put up on the tank as a sticker right? It would be nice if you could post a quick pic of the Tank showing the recommendation.

                              This is what Wiki says:

India: India's ordinary and premium petrols are of 91 RON. The premium petrols are generally ordinary fuels with additives, that do not really change the octane value. Two variants, "Speed 93" and "Speed 97", were launched, with RON values of 93 and 97. India's economy-class vehicles usually have compression ratios under 10:1, thus enabling them to use lower-octane petrol without engine knocking.
