Great. I will look at levers and handle bar later as i want to buy engine protectors, fork protector, puig fly screen and exhaust.

Akrapovic link you posted has low price but it will cost over 1000$ after including shipping and duties.

Yes the Arrow one is also good, go for it if thats saving a few bucks. yes get the engine protector, fork protectos, frame protectors and get them fitted. then you can go cosmetic

RTO experience was pathetic to say the least.

I did not go for a choice number as i will have to shell out 25000 to get number 800 since its not in running series. I will be getting to know number may be today or tomorrow.

What did you decide on Z800?

I got my Z800 delivered last month on a temporary registration.

Visited Jayanagar RTO (KA 05) last week to get permanent registration done.
RTO office was full of agents and i could see very few customers.

An inspector was seated on top floor and agents/dealership guy's were bringing two wheeler's, reading engine and chassis number and inspector would sign on a paper.

Kawasaki dealership appointed agent reached late by an hour as i was waiting with my Zee. I was asked to bring my Zee as inspector wanted to have a look. He asked agent to start my bike, rev it and then read out engine/chassis number. He had hell lot of attitude like some mla/minister i have seen. I told agent not to rev as i did not get the bike to satisfy an individual.

I asked agent to get me number 800 as i was ready to pay charges of 6K (RTO charges) for a choice number in running series. We went down to office to check running number and it had crossed 1200. Agent said if i pay 2K (bribe), he can get me another choice number to which i said no bribe and came out.

I could see road tax amount of Rs 110,000 in challan and few hundreds for registation.

An amount of 1.13L was paid to Kawasaki bangalore dealership towards Road tax, Registration, smart card and number plate charges. They have not charged me handling charges in region of 15 to 20K. Triumph price list had a handling charges of over 15K for Street Triple.

Bit annoying to hear this, but, why [MENTION=46089]djay99[/MENTION] , you could have taken the bike for delivery after theregistration has completed..it would have saved us this frustration.. but got to wait longer to get her home...

I bought bike on temporary registration as pitru paksha peiod was started next day.

First service completed for my Z800 when odo was 985KM. Current odo reading is 1050KM.

Oil and oil filter was changed. Bike was washed and polished, chain was cleaned and few small adjustment were done like clutch cable, brake lever etc.

Labour charge for service was 2500 before tax and it included labour charges for oil, oil filter change and washing.
I was charged extra for chain cleaning, polishing and consumables like coolant.

Total cost of first service was ~7200 INR.

Air filter will be cleaned during next service.

Oil was drained. I was surprised to see colour of oil (dark brown) after usage of just 985KM. It was like completely burnt.

Motul Fully Synthetic 10W40 oil (3.4L) was filled.

A brand new green-black combo Kawasaki Z800 was parked in service centre. It was to be delivered to a customer in Chennai. This was 2015 model.
It appeared that green colour on this bike was different than the other kawasaki models like Z1000 or ZX14R. I liked 2014 colour scheme more than this one.
I some how felt black looked better than the 2015 green colour combo

i noticed u were looking for after market exhausts , after studying many forums ive come to get an idea. I also rode a z800 with SC exhaust which sounds very loud and nice, i believe that 0-4000 rpm there is a loss of power but u get compensated at the top-) which i may not use often, Scorpion exhausts on the other hand will give you power throughout the power band because it was developed with he same mapping of the stock bike. My bike will come home next week. Pls let me know your thoughts. Also be informed that the bike i rode had the db killer removed , and perhaps i must use the db killer to see the difference, i assume there will be as the back pressure will increase. SC s price was very attractive at less than 30 k delivered at ur house

Yes doc. I am looking for an aftermarket exhaust primarily to reduce weight (by ~5KG) and improve exhaust note as stock exhaust is almost mute below 4K RPM.
Arrow is not easily available in India. Akrapovic is expensive at around 65K. I spoke to distributor of SC project and he quoted 46K for conic version.
Scorpion looks good, sounds good on youtube video, reduces weight by over 5KG and increases around 1.5 horse power and is cheaper as well. On jesterstrickbits.co.uk, its available for 250 GBP + Shipping+Indian duty. I am talking to service centre folks for warranty since Akra is approved by Kawasaki in international market. If they say no warranty issues, i will get Akra then.
Can you please test once with db killer to check on low end torque. Also could you please check name of the exhaust? Will keep you posted. All the best and ride safe.

djay i got some news for you , this boy who has the SC project exhaust has the race version( which requires a tuner( ucan see in the website for the top end version as well which he hasn t) which does NOT have a db killer .I found out by calling him today. He imported directly from italy as they ship world wide. he chose the most expensive race version which costed him Rs 53 K. Im only looking for the carbon oval ,Ive asked them for a new quote as we live outside the EU and hence we are allowed exemption of VAT which is nearly 20%( i know this is as my hobby is astrophotography and i buy a lot of astronomical accessories from UK) Ive also written to Scorpion exhausts the same set of questions. I also noted the GPR exhausts are very economical and costs nearly 10k less and their website beautifully explains the difference between road legal silencer and the racing silencers . It would not be an intelligent thing to get the racing silencer for a street bike where u get power on top of the spectrum
