Super choice on the tyres. I have the same and no issues at all. They take some time to warm up but i guess thats a trade off to the much softer compund of the Pirelli's. Nonetheless Metzeler is also owned by Pirelli...so all good there.

When you do change the tyres please also ask the service guys to balance the wheels for you. Considering the new rim too. It makes a world of a difference as far as ride quality and handling goes.

Finally I got back the bike and started enjoying the Metzelers already. I have paid Rs 23000/- to the tyre dealer for Front+Rear but it is not an entirely settled deal. It should have been just a bit less than that. I also got puncture proofing treatment done right away (cost Rs 700/- for 2 tyres).

What I felt as a difference between Pirelli Rosso Corsa Vs Metzeler

• Warm up time for M7RR is a bit more than PRC indeed.
  • In first few minutes, any attempts to sudden acceleration can result in rear wheel spinning for a second after which they grip the road. Definitely it is wiser to not rush just after starting the bike for the first time on a given day.
  
  
• After warm up, the grip is level is really good and I find it as nothing less than PRC. Or may be I don't ride so aggressively as to find out this difference. I am indeed fairly good in cornering though not an expert and I got good confidence in cornering on M7RR nothing different than PRC.
• Not sure if I am getting the feeling just because I shifted from old and worn out PRC to fresh M7RR, I am seeing an eagerness of the bike to fall into the turn. Basically it is as if the bike wants to quickly lean the moment you push it into a turn. Funny thing is that some others felt M7RR is not as eager as PRC - but my experience is opposite. May be they compared fresh M7RR vs fresh PRC. From my memories of new PRC, I feel this is more eager.

Latest Update from Aamby Valley Ride (05-Mar-17) and Mahabaleshwar (03-Mar-17) regarding Metzeler M7RR tyres:

• Day by day my confidence on these tyres is really increasing.
• These tyres have really strong grip and I have already reached almost the edge of rear tyre in terms of usage of tyre surface during turns! This is even better than my past attempts on Pirelli Rosso Corsa even though those tyres were very sticky as well.
• Turn in is really eager and it was a breeze shifting from one side to other in a series of snaking corners in Pasarni Ghat near Mahabaleshwar.
• For the first time my confidence is really better due to these tyres on sharp hairpins. I am surely a wee bit more confident and slightly quicker in these turns which not only have nearly 180 degree turn but also have major inclination changes in road towards Aamby Valley.

I have used Triumph Tool Kit screw driver plus I had some other screwdriver and allen key set with me - can't remember exact sizes.

It is very difficult to say what they will do. Ideally they should bring all 3 but we never can tell! Last time they didn't bring the R/RX version of Street Triple.


By the way an update from my side:

I recently purchased Sena 20S Bluetooth Helmet Communicator. Got a decent deal at Rs 16000/-. Normal price would be above Rs 20000/-.

I have a rider friend - Prabodh Desai who has now become dealer of SENA. He also owns Benelli showroom @ Worli, Mumbai. If anyone wants, I can pass on his contact details. Preferably if at least 4-5 people buy together, then similar price is possible.

Pune Triumph Showroom has also got dealership of SENA now and their rate is also similar if multiple buyers pool together.

It seems an excellent product as per initial impression. I have used only the phone-call receiving features so far and that works very well.

The system fits very well with my helmet X-Lite 603 which had appropriate slots for the ear-pieces and wiring. Sound clarity is excellent. I will soon be checking intercom features - hopefully during coming weekend.

More Update:

We have extensively used SENA intercom feature where we paired up to 3 sets together. Range is fairly good (800-1000 m). Voice clarity is excellent. We did a fairly long ride and kept intercom ON throughout the ride (Pune-Wai-Mahabaleshwar-AmbeNali Ghat Towards Pratapgad-and back to Pune through same route).

I am happy with this product so far. Let us see how long it works in this manner - as of now it is very impressive. FM Radio and music streaming from mobile phone works very well also but I don't like such distraction so didn't use these features. Other riders in the group did use it and they have liked it very much.

They say the stock street power is about 78 BHP. But no need to think too much about it. Almost all people upgrade to full blown power within 6 months Exact figures are difficult to say but it surely is closer to 100 BHP after upgrades. IT still may not beat the 105 BHP of full Euro Spec bike. Doesn't matter as it is very fast even in stock state - enough to entertain for few years if not more.

I'm just enquiring cause the new street triple line up of S,R and RS respectively is powered at 113bhp,117bhp and 123 bhp, obviously with mechanical and other goodies on the R and rs version.

Whatever it has, it puts them out on the road very well. What should you expect after the euro spec upgrade?

1. 0-100 under 4 seconds
2. 246 kmph indicated top speed
3. Goes to 200 like there is no tomorrow
4. Should get around 80-85 bhp at wheel

These facts are for those, who just compare paper specs. There is lot more to this bike than that. Ask Jeevan [emoji6]

new street triple, i m sure you must be aware, has 90 extra cubic centimetres. thats nearly 13% more than current model. expect 15% transmission losses reducing wheel bhps from what you mentioned.
