Here is a pic of my bike.
Thanks man, I have already Installed the R&G frame sliders, could not find a trustworthy rear slider online, If the ones with the older version is compatible, Could you post a link to that product please.

as for the shorty levers, what is your take on them? Are they as good as the standard one in terms of form and functionality? I am getting some pretty good deal on aliexpress and ebay? are the products as dependable as some of the branded stuff we can get like Evotech and R&G ?

Sweet spot as of now if 130-140kmph at 6th gear 5500-6500rpm.. the engine is pretty quiet too at this speed, no violence on the acoustic front. After this.. a vibrating helmet and screeching wind noice was making it uncomfortable to maintain higher speed.

Any suggestions on a good helmet? I need something which can take this buffeting issue atleast to 150kmph if not higher? and yes quiet helmet is appreciated , I am not a fan of loud exhaust on long journeys..
Hi Arun, Congrats on the superbike. My wishes for you to enjoy miles and miles on it.
One advice as well, please please do not go to such speeds on our highways/roads.

Just an update, i have placed an order today itself with Evotech-performance.com (Uk) for the below parts.

          1. Kawasaki Ninja650 2017 Rear Spindle Bobbins

          2. Kawasaki Ninja650 2017 Front Spindle Bobbins

          3. Kawasaki Ninja650 2017 PaddockStand SwingArm Bobbins

          4. Kawasaki Ninja650 2017 Crash Protection

          5. Kawasaki Ninja650 2017 Radiator Guard

Unfortunately, the radiator guard is currently out of stock. A friend of mine would be carrying the courier back to India, whilst in his return journey next week. Will have it installed asap.

The nimble stand however needs a small extender. I currently don't have the pic of that extender, once i have that, will surely post it here in this forum.

a pair of stomgrips and few more to add on later.
          Hi Swayan,

Did you have any issues with customs while getting these delivered from Evotech? If you get a chance would you please post some pictures of your bike with these items installed. Thanks.

Hello Arun, how are you finding the ground clearance of 650 on Banglore roads. I have heard the belly hits the speed breaker bumps even without a pilian rider. Would like to know your experience on it(particularly with in the city).

Hi, the ground clearance of N650 is very low and I have to be very careful while riding it in Mumbai city roads. the current suspension setting is stock which is in between the hard and the soft setting. I am planning to get the setting to see at hardest to see if that works. Even for a minor speed bump, it has scrapped the belly at times and yes there was no pillion. I have now started to reduce speeds as low as 5-8 kmph and at times the bike is so slow that I have to put feet on my ground to avoid the dent.

the other problem is being careful on highways where I am doing high speeds and then Indian highways as you know, a pot hole or a speedbump and bike will just not glide over it, not sure what will happen with the exhaust in that case.

Hardest setting of suspension is the only solution I see now, but that would make the ride a bit stiff.

Re: My new Touring partner | Ninja 650- 2017

Hi Guys, I am very close to getting a pre-owned 2018 Ninja 650. While I have researched the bike thoroughly and am satisfied with most aspects of the bike I have two questions that I would like to ask owners of the bike and get real world feedback. Just a request - Since I have already done enough research online, I would prefer feedback from people who have actually owned/ridden this bike extensively.

                1. Ground clearance: I am aware that the GC of the bike is 130mm and is definitely lower than ideal.
How does this manifest in the real world?

Does the bike scrape most speed breakers?

Does the exhaust system get affected/damaged to the extent that it needs repairs due to incidents where the underbelly scrapes when manouevering speed bumps and potholes?

I plan to do a lot of 2up riding (with pillion) in the city where the concentration of bumps and craters is the maximum. How does it hold up? Is it impossible to ride uneventfully in the city?

                2. Pillion comfort: I have had my partner accompany me on short test rides, but, I would like to know about pillion comfort on reasonably long rides.
Is it very uncomfortable or is it fine with some breaks?

How is it in the city?

Any color on the pillion comfort will be very helpful.

Since I need to decide soon, I will really appreciate quick responses from knowledgable members of this community.

                Thanks

Hi, I own Z650 2018, ground clearance is an issue, it scrapes most of the speedbreakers, but with experience you will be able to pass these speedbreakers without scraping underbelly. With pillion you will be scraping each and every bump. I have changed my tyre to 180 section and ground clearance has increased little bit.

How does this manifest in the real world?

It would scrape through most of them except for the very small or mild humps.

Does the bike scrape most speed breakers?m.Yes most of the,

Does the exhaust system get affected/damaged to the extent that it needs repairs due to incidents where the underbelly scrapes when manouevering speed bumps and potholes? It can handle most of them if you ride with care. High speed scrapes might cause some damage to the catcon.

I plan to do a lot of 2up riding (with pillion) in the city where the concentration of bumps and craters is the maximum. How does it hold up? Is it impossible to ride uneventfully in the city? 100% it will scrape with pillion. You need to be careful when crossing humps.

                    2. Pillion comfort: I have had my partner accompany me on short test rides, but, I would like to know about pillion comfort on reasonably long rides.
Is it very uncomfortable or is it fine with some breaks? Pillion comfort was better on the old N650 due to softer seat cushion. You can add a gel seat for added comfort.

How is it in the city? Depends on how you ride. It wont behave like a commuter does. You can't wriggle through small gaps and stuff. It all depends on what you are expecting out of it. I commute everyday to office on the N1000 and have no complaints.

Any color on the pillion comfort will be very helpful.
