really are the r1 tyres that bigger ??? I guess both the r1 and the busa have the same sized 17' tyres. correct me if i am wrong.

Yes you are correct. Both have 120/70ZR17M/C (58W) tubeless.
The width of the tyre in the pic is because of the angle, thats it.
