It is available, just not at every gas station. Mostly because, like I said before, applications are very limited for these fuels.Originally posted by Bladerunner View Post

missed on this post in the last few days.Originally posted by Vivek View PostYeah, the Lexus was now 6 years old and I wasn't even using it at all. So didn't make sense to keep it. So it's now down to the 328i, the R6S and a Honda Rebel 250
Man, I love that little 250. Great to zip around town with. My wife's learning to ride with it.

The Shoutbox is sorely missed.. hoping that it gets reinstated with the new xBHP.
And those are Sea Gulls and they just sit around not giving a damn about people.

Yup.. Tied the knot last october.. which made getting the bikes a bit more challenging than would have been previously
but I prevailed.

Thanks Kwok! The Rebel is a fun little bike. It's only got a 17bhp engine, but it's good enough for city commuting. Very comfortable and quick enough.Originally posted by KwokFist View PostCongratulations bro! so how's the R6.. one of my friend owns it here.. and my ride has been long due..

I worked a bit on a better ride report for the R6 and here it is.
A more detailed ride report @400 Miles.
For the most part I have been using this bike to commute to work. 6 Miles each way. And that is such a stress buster that I don't mind the drudgeries of my work day anymore. Even on the rare bad day at work, I have something to look forward to at the end of the day
As a strict believer in the ATGATT (All the gear, all the time) philosophy, I never even start the bike unless I'm all geared up for it. As such the keys to my bikes are permanently lodged in my Jacket.
So each morning, I turn the bike on and let it warm up while I zip up the jacket, get into my helmet wear the gloves etc.
A turn of the key starts the self diagnostic, the Tach needle does the full sweep and returns, the shift light goes on and off and the LCD Display comes on. Engine Temperature, Odometer and Speed are displayed on the LCD and you can select one additional display from the Clock, two trip meters or a F-Trip meter (more on that later).
The Engine start switch brings it to life. And if you were expecting a loud satisfying roar... there isn't any
You'll immediately notice the surprising quietness at idle revs while the Cold-start map on the ECU does its thing to warm up the engine. A deceptive throaty purr from the inline four tugs at you like a lost kitten. Oh the treachery! But having spent a month with this chamaleon, I've learnt its tricks well.
I get on it with a fair deal of caution.
The riding position is very sporty. Like I have mentioned before, the 08 CBR600RR has more comfortable ergos to give you a picture. The seat is wide and decently padded. The footpegs are biased to the back like you'd expect on such a bike. It took me a little while to get used to finding them without looking.
Kick off the side stand (It will kill the engine if you try to put it in gear with the side stand out) and put it in first. Even with the Clutch lever pulled in, The bike jerks forwardy momentarily and very satisfyingly when you do that. The first hint that the purring was just a sham.
(Be gentle with that throttle)
As with all bikes this size and higher, slow speed manouvering is a skill that one should spend some time learning. Moving around a parking lot at 3 mph requires a lot more skill than doing 150MPH on the Horse Thief mile straight at willow springs. You can put your feet down on the ground, but it is bad form and the CA DMV flunks people in their tests for that action.
In short, I practice slow speed stuff. A lot.
Pardon my ADD, Coming back to the topic..Once on the road, this bike comes into its element. If I had to describe it in three words they would be.
Responsive, Quick and versatile.
Bear in mind that I'm still running it in and on very few occasions did I cross the recommended 7K RPM (Okay.. make that a little more than a few occasions), but even in the low end of it's power band, this bike impresses.
I launch it at around 3K rpm in first and by the time you get to 5K, the purring is replaced by a meatier growl that just gets better with every notch on the Tach.
In 2nd gear at ~7K I'm at 55-60MPH. The sound at that point is like a drug. At that point you get a taste of what it is capable of. You know it will only get better if you can rev it a little higher, to get a little more. The four cylinders giving you exactly what you want.... If I could just go a little higher...
But in this cop infested Los Angeles Neighborhood, it takes an enormous amount of self control for me to click into 3rd, roll off the throttle a bit and cruise back to 45mph.. Back to the purring. At least until I break it in. Then I'll put her on a trailer take it to Willow and stretch its legs (and mine).
Thank god for California, whitelining by motorcycles is allowed (or at least tolerated). That is the practice of driving between lanes. Well, for me that means I can squeeze past at stop lights and zoom off ahead of cars.
The way this thing pulls away from a wall of cars at a stop light is amazing. By the time I settle into cruising speed, the cars are just little dots on my rear view mirrors. The RVMs incidentally do a great job for a sports bike. Very functional.
Once a SLK350 did take offence to my squeezing past and tried to race with me. I'm not one to brag, but I didn't even have to breach my 7k break-in limit to pull away to the next stop light (which are aplenty in L.A)
The transmission is top notch. Smooth like butter with a very satisfying click every time you change a gear. And so are the brakes. Twin 310mm discs up front can bring it to a stop without much drama.
I use the two finger rule. i.e. never use more than two fingers for all braking.
If you do get stuck in traffic, the knees and calf start to get a little toasty from the engine, but that's tolerable.
Other than that..
The Fuel light comes on at about 90 Miles of city riding. At this point there's another 0.7 Gallons in the tank, but I usually top it up. A new trip meter starts when the Fuel light comes up. That's the F-Trip and it tells you the distance that you have been riding in reserve. Very handy that one.
The stock rubber is good enough. Trust me. Unless you are a professional racer and want to increase your lap time by a second or two, I can't think of any reasons to switch.
That's all for now. Will write more after its broken in @1000 Miles.

@Vivek: Congrats again on the beast..Or Chameleon if you'd rather
How do the others react when they see a foreigner like you, from India riding around on a motorcycle thats an object of envy for so many of them? Does the 'This is our turf why's he having fun here when I'm not' attitude show? Also bro, if you don't mind me asking, are you part of any bikers group out there? And do they bond just as easily as we do in xBhp?Riot Engine |Norton WD 16H | BSA C11G |Enfield Fury

As to people's reactions, it is very varied. A few people are generally A-holes, just like every place else and will object to pretty much any other race existing around them. And there are few others who hate all bikers in general.
But for the most part, people don't really care that I'm Indian. They have questions about the bike and about riding.
Other riders are always glad to see one of their own. Around here it is customary to wave to any other biker you see on the road. Feels good to be part of that.
I'm not into any group as such and not planning to be. I will however join the WSMC (Willow Spring Motorcycle Club) once I get done with the break-in. I'd rather ride on the track than in a Canyon full of cagers.
Thanks man, the Rebel is widely used here as a training bike. Almost all riders here use that to get their feet wet. The MSF uses them to train people.Originally posted by bobbykick View PostHey there vivek thats a beautiful R6 that u have !! ....... ne ways the Honda rebel is a pretty famous bike around here in Dubai !! .. and its a good city ride ..havnt riden it yet !! will have to ask my Pizza delivery fellow for the same !! damn such good bikes and they are using it here as delivery bikes !! ....
