Well, The R1 feels more agile on the road and definitely handles better, thanks to many parts shared with the M1 used in Moto GP.
I think the performance is also slightly better.

BUT all due respect to the blade.

I too think R1 is better than the Blade !
R1 wins any quarter mile race hands down.
I shouldnt have bought the blade cause the blade does 160kmph in first gear instead of R1s 170 kmph ?
Whats that got to do with anything with what a bike rides like ?

The R1 is the heaviest of all litre bikes. So "agile" and "handles better" cannot be the words used to describe the R1. Its strength lies in other things like its famous chasis and its crossplane engine feel and drive. Not in handling and agility. Handling and agility has been the forte of the Fireblade not the R1.
Neither the R1 nor the Blade share ANY parts with their MotoGP counterparts! It would be ridiculous to think they do...
That said, if you are buying a litre class thinking its the fastest bike then you shouldnt be anywhere in a 2 km radius of a superbike at all.
The only thing you will be wasting along with your money is your gas and your time. Unless your last name is Hayden or Stoner, your looking like a poser and there are 100 guys in India alone who will ride around you in circles on on an R15,Ninja250R or a 600.

And I thought that R1 and M1 have the same chasis.

You should have asked this earlier!
I saw their posts in Tenhut's & your R1 threads early this evening, & wanted to post something, but refrained.
I wonder why people try to bring someone down by saying "you shouldn't have bought this", more importantly giving ridiculous reasons for the same!!
Eagerly waiting for both their replies now.

Its cool...they are taking their first step towards getting to know what superbikes are. Their opinions are not theirs...so you cant blame them...their opinions are those of their friends who themselves have drawn conclusions not through riding experiences but through passionate talks about bikes when in college. Publore remember ?They are blinded by their love and passion towards what they think is THE bike to own.
It is this very passion that fuels the desire to own a bike and leads ppl to save for 10 years to buy a superbike....Their belief in their choice is very very strong. So its not all that bad.
I have myself been through this...its tough to shake your liking towards a bike when you are ready loot a bank for it.
Its not wrong to have wrong opinions...its wrong to refuse to change them.

P.S : just go on improving your riding everyday and ride safe. Thats all that matters...

Just a suggestion.. As its not even completed break-in, go for mineral oil instead of using fully synthetic..

I questioned about your ZX and you changed your sign?

Where is your ZX? If you wrecked it so heavily that it is beyond repair, how come you came away unscathed? (you aren't shaking)

A picture or two of your pre-wrecked and post-wrecked would do good along with the current status of your ZX.
                          Thanks

What would be the best engine oil and air filter changing interval ? am using Motul 15w50 synthetic oil and she has done 3500 km since the last oil change.

@Sudipta: As informed to you on the phone a while back, using synthetic oil on the street is not really required. For one, the cost is high and you don't really experience any benefit out of it. If you are spending time in the tracks, then synthetic is the way to go. Otherwise, just use mineral.

Air filter: Yamaha stipulates a change every 5000 km for the Indian sold R1s. Abroad it is 10000 kms. But I would advise you to check every 2500 kms and see the condition of the filter.

If so then isn't it better to use k&n air filters ? what you using ?
