        Thanks Vivek!

Errr, can someone edit my first post just slightly? I'd need the second line to be changed to 'pictures that i had posted before the server crashed', it has been already been misunderstood and a friend checked in on me.

When are we going for a ride. Still having trouble at weekends, although certainly free during November weekends from 15th thru month end. Any weekday is great with the Powai 'gang'.

Stewarch, are you good for coming sunday? Freddy? A few of us are mostly doing an early morning stint.

Streethawk, thats a headlamp cover to protect the headlamp from any flying stones etc and it looks more bling too

Thats the carbon fiber yoke protector, the machining makes it look like factory fit, its MM perfect.
Streethawk, thats how the headlamp looks without the cover.

Sweet, I always loved that one.
Locking the front and flipping is the worst experience you could err experience.

Its been a long time since i updated this thread.

Between the last update and today, the mongrel has gone in for a tuneup & exhaustive service, with the minro niggles dealt with.

This was almost a month ago if not more. Dropped the bike with Tony for the following work:

                        Body wash

Fit seals, washers and a gasket that had been lying with me since almost a year.

Change the air filter to the OEM one, and the oil filter to Filtrex (of which you see a decal on the right side tail section). There were not any specific reason to why i went to OEM & Filtrex, just bought what was available where someone could bring it down.

Replace the OEM levers with the Carbon fiber coated levers my friend had brought down from UK.

                        Carbs tuned and balanced.

Oil, Coolant & other lubricants changed.

Left side rvm needed to be riveted as it was as hade loose.

Low beam and left side rear signal rectified.

                        Chain cleaned and set.

After all this, and maybe some more that i may have missed the bike feels as good as it always has. Last couple of months it had been creating lot of engine lash in the lower gears as the engine had lost its tune since its last 'full service', now all of that it perfectly set.
One added benefit of a Tony service & tuneup is the butter smooth gearshifts for a months to come, this really makes the first ride from the garage to home worthwhile.
The Thunderace moves really well, feels planted (at 200 odd kgs) and pulls through the rpm range effortlessly.

After the service, i have done only one ride, but have been opening up the throttle with a little extra rage and man these liter bikes are really something else. The tires (mine have done only 3000 kms and are a year old) will whip out sideways with the slightest of careless movement of your right wrist.
Sometimes i really wonder what the newer feather light crisp handling must be like, the Thunderace at 145 BHP & 200 kgs while all the newer bikes are making a good 30% more than that, and weight atleast 15% less. I have ridden a few new age bikes, but riding them for a short stint, and owning them are two different things.

Recently i have even installed a tank camera mount on the Ace hoping to catch some action, the angle with my current digicam isnt the best, but should be quite ideal with a handycam due to the vertical lens.

                        Keep you guys updated.

                        manson.

So you're a Tony guy too eh! Good one mate. He's the best and been around forever, super knowledgeable. I've known him for almost 20 years (since I was a kid) and won't buy a bike without him giving the nod. Even if it is a new bike from the showroom.

However, this is the one time I bought a bike against his recommendation; my MT, but I think he changed his mind after he knew how much I wanted it and how nice it is

I'm going to him soon to fix all my new goodies

Yup, he is not too fond of air cooled bikes.
Tony, and Jonny are by far the best in bombay. Jonny i think is a few shades more experienced but is a lot more busy, so he mostly delegates work to his boys unless you know him since donkey years.
Tony on the other hand works himself, has time for tiny details, and thats why the Thunderace goes to him.

Btw, Sfighter, are you riding this sunday?

Some event this Sunday? Who's riding, where to? Sundays are usually sports days for me so unless it's interesting enough I don't normally give up the games.
