A few of us generally ride on Sunday mornings to Lonavala or Karjat for a quick bite and back.
Usually meet at BKC at 6.00 a.m.
Reach Kamats (at the entry of loony) between 7.30-8.00 a.m.
Leave Kamats within 30 minutes odd, and reach home by 10-10.30 a.m.

The group hasn't ridden last couple of Sundays, so we will mostly ride coming Sunday.

That doesn't sound too bad...my games begin only after 11. May be this Sunday! Who's in the group, must be someone I know? Names? You can PM me too.

A few members from Team-bhp, a couple of common friends, and farfromnormal (ashish) and an occasional Neoda1. You will most probably bump into atleast one another group every sunday morning around the same time.
I'll leave you a pm on this.

Racing and stuff or just riding for the fun of it? I don't like it when rides turn into races. The street is just too dangerous for that stuff.

Strictly riding for fun!!!! For racing there's PS!
Everyone has their few bursts of speed on open stretches, but all the regulars amongst us try and keep it as safe as possible.
You may want to know, between the group there are atleast three regulars who are in the mid 40s, that may indicate the riding pattern.

I've been riding a few times with a bunch of folks, only around the city and it's been pretty civilised, sometimes a little too civilised for my tastes But seriously, I am a hard rider and fast rider but always try to be as safe as possible. OTOH I've seen many idiots and nuts who I just don't like to ride with at all.

                Streetfighter,

I totally second you. It's good to have met ya at Vicky's bldg.

                Manson,

Thanks for the invite. You for sure as I said before can count me in this Sunday. You've got my no as I do yours. I cudnt agree with you guys more in regards to Tony being a real good mechanic and the fact he works on the bikes himself, have seen him in action and know him pretty well, is a real mydear chap and always nice to speak to.

Also when it comes to rides I detest guys who ride to show off. I mean we're there to enjoy the weather, the bikes and the spirit of riding together. Sure enough there are spasms in which all o us like to open up our bikes but then we come back to sane speeds. I ride for pleasure and safety period. I hope all u guys are safe & fun to ride with. I have come across some jokers who the less spoken of the better.

                Cheers!

Squids are all over the place, and you cannot really do much about that.
I mostly avoid really large group rides, too many different riding styles to cope with. However, if i am caught in the web, i try and stick around people who i have ridden around with in the past.

OK guys, getting OT here. I happen to like the Ace and this thread, so I don't want to have to pepper deleted posts all over this thread.

Use the PM facility to full effect

                    Thanks in advance

When i bought the bike it was running Michelin Macadams which sucked, switched to Bridgestone BT-020 hard compund rubber last September, they're superb. Was almost on Michelin Pilot Powers but these provide the perfect balance for daily street riding and Sunday highway rides.
For the oil, i've always fed it with Castrol Magnatec, considering a move to Petronas, any suggestions?

You might want to try out the 2CTs. They're fantastic! Anyway, if you're thinking of Petronas synthetic, then you should think about Motul 300V. Nothing better IMO.

I have a lot of life left on the BT-020, its done only 3000 kms off since a year when i changed them. I'm expecting to extract atleast 10,000 kms, which should see me thorugh 2009.
Is the Motul fully systhetic? Castrol Magnatec is all mineral from what i recall.

Are you using them on your R1?

Magnatec is a semi synthetic oil.

No man, I still have my OEM tyres on.. Michelin Pilot Powers. Soft compound, grippy as heck but wear rate is fast! Yamaha here sells the 2CTs so my next change will be to the 2CT.

300V is fully synthetic. I think 5100 is semi synth.

Or maybe even a pair of Pilot Power Race for the track.
