Am reposting this since this got deleted due to the server crash.
Would request all members who had posted their own topic to recreate them if they have posted them on other forums / blogs. Xbhp did have a lot of valuable threads prior to the crash. Lets post as much as we can to get it back to the best biking forum.
Sunny : I am creating this topic which was also posted from Team-BHP. I would also be uploading the pics from Team-BHP since they were already resized. They have been watermarked with the Team-BHP logo. Please delete them if goes against the forum rules, and I will accordingly post new ones.

Hi guys, as you may know that the ECR project has been completed and its now time to start a new project. Having worked on the Machismo for atleast a year, we are now planning to work on a Yamaha RX100. We have already checked out a few RX100's and may finalise one this week. We were actually planning on another Enfield, but looking at our budget, we were not getting a 'right-brake' (or rather wrong, in enfield terms) bike. We were also looking at the RD350, but folks at home would kick me out if I even mentioned the words R and D. So that ruled out the RD350. There was no way we could look at other 4-stroke bikes since none have the cult status as any of these 3bikes. Hence the RX100.
Here are some of the prices quoted for the RX100 :
1989 RX100, single owner, silver color, all original parts, decent condition - Rs. 12,000
1994 RX100 - 2 owners, black color, parts missing and existing ones rattling, engine noise - Rs 11,000
1991 RX100 - This takes the cake. 5 owners, lots of parts missing and engine noise, pathetic condition - Rs (let it be, i'll keep it for the jokes thread)
There are somethings which I would like to know before we actually start with the work. I would also appreciate if someone could help us with the prices and availabilities of certain spares. Till everything is ready to be fitted onto the bike, the bike will be completely stock.
Unlike the ECR project, which was not planned properly and led to a lot of delay and changes, this one is gonna be planned first and then executed. Hence there may not be a pictorial progress in this thread. Maybe just the stock bike and then the final product. The design and the paint job have been finalised.
The things that we are looking at are listed below. Appreciate your responses if these are possible or not and what are the costs involved.
Alloy wheels : How much would 2nd hand Pulsar alloys - 17-in cost? or any 5-spoke 17-in alloys for that matter? Would these directly fit onto an RX100. If not, what modifications are required?
CBZ swingarm - I need to put a 100 or a 110 size rear tyre. Is it possible to mount it on the existing RX swingarm? Or do i need to change to a CBZ swingarm?
Front mudguard : How much does an original front RX-100 mudguard cost?
Proton silencer : Where and for how much will I get a Proton silencer for? I am looking for a good performance silencer. Can anyone advise on price and availability?
Will come up with more queries once we get the bike and start with the mods. Thanks in advance.

Did see a couple of other RX100's before zeroing up on this one. Almost picked up a crappy old one for 8k before a friend advised me against it.
So here starts the Yamaha Cafe Racer Project. And since it is from scratch, its definitely gonna be better than Team-BHP - The Definitive Indian Car Community (Pictorial Progress: V12's Cafe Racer Project! Updated pics!)
The current work planned on the bike is as below :
- Parts to be fabricated : Single seat with cowl, double seat, rear-sets, clubman handlebars
- Parts to be brought : larger headlight, speedometers, indicators, Yamaha logos
The bike is gonna be used as it is till all the parts are ready. Here are some pics of the bike. Please excuse the color
