If you want to use the digital speedo from the pulsar/apache etc, you will need to switch the front wheel to the same size as well if you want accurate speedo readings.
Using a four stroke tach for a two stroke will not work out as a two stroke has twice the pulses as a four stroke which is why you get double readings for the rpm meter. IF you're looking for a CDI based two stroke rpm meter, try sourcing a shogun rpm meter. Should work.

I have recently installed the Pulsar speedo on my Yamaha rx 100 and i have given the inputs from the HT PICKUP and then direct earth and possitive from the battery . i have a RDD cdi installed. was not able to find a SHogun console so has to opt for the Pulsar unit. though i dont like it but still i love the way it works. it idles at 1k RPM. and revs upto 9K RPM. and at that time it seems that the engine would explode. but its real fun to run the bike with the Tacho on.Originally posted by Deltaone View PostIf you want to use the digital speedo from the pulsar/apache etc, you will need to switch the front wheel to the same size as well if you want accurate speedo readings.

Finally some pics on the progress. Being a Sunday, not much could be done. This project is turning out to be more of a restoration project than a cafe racer one. As we progress, we realise that a lot of parts need to be replaced. Everything on the bike (except for the engine, suspension, hubs and chasis) is new.

kickass idea for the tank gordon, I have just one suggestion to you though..I have no doubts about the fabrication you did on the bullet, and must admit it was a pretty neat job..even read up on your article on BSM
so here goes...considering you are going in for a cafe racer, wouldn't a conversion to a 5 speed 135cc RX be a better option too..The RX100 engine specs are pretty lame [no offense] compared to the 135..and since you're not leaving any detail on your work, which is completely amazing, it'd somehow do injustice to the tiny motor unless it'd be a 135, and ofc a 5 speed..Its not that tough too, can be done easily under 2 days, and you'll have a more grunty, fuel efficient and definitely a more powerful motor to do justice to the cafe racer...not to mention an extra 5th gear
hows the bullet doing?..keep us updated..the headlight unit on this one looks hot..make sure u get that long TZ750 type tank made
colour suggestion : what better than the Kenny roberts yellow with the black and white stripes

ps; ditch those rear shocks and the swingarm..the pulsar DTSI silencer is a neat fit..had seen one on torqu3e's bike and it looked and felt pretty neat
pps: squeeze in a little more and get a gladiator front disc brake kit as well..the rotor and the golden coloured caliper unit will definitely add grace and be very functional compared to the drum brake83' RD350 HT

Thanks for the suggestion Atul. Unfortunately, we've overshot our budget and wont be possible to mount a disc brake or a 135/5-Sp motor. Lets see the next project may start on a RX135 5 speed.
Anyways a major update now. The seat / cowl is ready and should be mounted on the bike tomorrow morning. Till then here are the pics in b/w. The long seat is the Enfield Cafe Racer one and the short one is for the Yamaha. The seat / cowl color is a surprise and color pics will be posted only when the bike is ready. So till then enjoy the teaser pics :
The bike is still with the Yamaha service station and they have promised to complete it by tomorrow 11 AM. So the bike will be put into the Qualis and brought to the garage to assemble.http://www.angelfire.com/alt2/carsandbikes/xbhpsign.jpg

A pic of the semi-assembled bike. Its seems everyone has messed up the fittings in some way or the other. I guess its our fault too in one way. We have given the bike to 3 different mechanics for different jobs. The engine / suspension fitting was given to one guy, the electricals to the Yamaha ASC and thew final assembly to this guy (who's much much better than the 2).
The seat and cowl has been mounted too but since it became dark, didnt click much pics. The gear linkages have been finalised and its only the brake pedal thats pending. The silencer is a temporary one. Am getting a Proton fitted.http://www.angelfire.com/alt2/carsandbikes/xbhpsign.jpg
