RX135 can hit 120-130 if you are on a chambered, jetted, ported setup (Maybe more than that).
My RX135 5 speed is on RDD cdi, UNI filter, 185 main jet and it hits 110 easily(meter reading), still having 1/4th throttle left to open(It needs a rebore right now but still runs strong)
Take your time understanding RX coz its not just any other bike. Spares availability are pain in back always. Expect 40k as total expenditure(Buying and rebuilding) if going for a RX!Bikes don't leak oil, They mark their territory.

When it comes to top speed, I always remember what Arvind once said, "one cannot fart more than he eats"
Rx was designed for a top speed of 100 & a good cruise (vibration free) around 80, even after spending a considerable amount in performance mods, it touches 120. Question - is it worth?
The modern day motorcycles are far better in technology to give a smooth vibration free rides. I'd rather opt for them.Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

Let me be more specific.
Why are you bothered about top speed? Because you see people on forums talking about achieving 550 Km/hr on a modified RX? Or does sandal-wear street racing gives you solid kicks (while you endanger yourself and people around you)? Or is it to humiliate a Pulsar kid who has bought a bike, yet to know what is engine oil and never heard of RX 100. One such kid commented that RX 100 and MAX 100 are same while my mech was working on my RX. So what should I have done, teach him what is RX by inviting him to street race with his Pulsar? LMAO.
A RX is not worth any of the above. It carries much more value as a motorcycle. First realise that. Oh and the Japanese did not design the RX to cruise at 550 Km/h or 140 Km/h.
Both are same for me anyways on a 98cc 2S 2W. Because I would never see those speed on my RX. Not in a thousand years.
If you are participating in an organized quarter mile drag in the 100cc category, it is an altogether diff story. Drag bikes are modified and they are of a different genre. Needs experience. Look around and you will find a lot of drag guys in this forum who keep their bikes on stand otherwise. Take them out only during a competition. A legal one. They know what they are doing. They have a sound technical knowledge. They use their machine for sports and not as a street racing medium.
If you are buying a RX just for street whacking, I would again say you are doing one BIG mistake. 60 - 80 Km/h on a RX is enough to show its charisma to anyone standing sitting passing by. Hot or cold.
So first decide why you are buying a RX and then buy one.

.............................
Anyways my say about RX after reading all of the Dumb and wise thing there. i have a little experience with two strokers. cause i have just owned a few for around 13 or 14 years. that include a tiny Hero Puch Shakti 3G, Yamaha RX100 (which was converted to 135- 5 speed with a REAL 5 speed barrel), couple of RD 350 and two Humble Scooters named Bajaj Chetak and LML NVspl. and the four strokes need not be listed.
now my say on the 2 Strokers is.
1 Nice peppy engine if you looking at RX100.
2 Good with even two people until till the time they just weigh like 2 people not 3.
3 Nice Average when compared to money that you pay(no more than 15Kif in north.) you can get easy around 38-40 if you ride sane.
4 Dont need much maintainance.
5 Even if you are stopped by policemen they may talk about your bike (if well maintained) and not notice that they stopped you cause you do not have the helmet on your head.
i can list a lot more but rite now need to go and get some sabjee for the afternoon cooking...|NO WHEELS|

Finally getting RX135 4 speed
I have finally got a RX135 4 speed at 17K. owner of bike went to bangalore, so will get the bike on wednesday. engine is at perfect condition(checked with mechanic), both tires should be changed immediately and painting is just ok. i have plan to paint it WHITE only after rain goes off.
i have plan to fix- quick throttle and fiber reeds alone. i want bike to be street legal. so, kindly suggest me performance mods,....... not too costly plzzzz(my finance is little bad)Last edited by johnsingam; 12-06-2010, 08:30 PM.

Congrats on your purchase. With regards to performance mods. Please please be sure what you wanted to do. There is nothing called budget mods, costly mods etc. It all depends on what you want your bike to be like, simple.Originally posted by johnsingam View PostI have finally got a RX135 4 speed at 17K. owner of bike went to bangalore, so will get the bike on wednesday. engine is at perfect condition(checked with mechanic), both tires should be changed immediately and painting is just ok. i have plan to paint it WHITE only after rain goes off.

If you want to have performance mods, you better have an idea what is that you want to do. Performance mods is a vast area, so be specific. Also, it is better that you save money for the time being before you want start of with mods. It is would not be advisable to right away start with mods without knowing what you want to achieve.
First let us know, if the bike is running on standard or oversized bore/ ported sleeved etc. You'll need to know about your bike before even think of mods.
This forum is always open to help fellow bikers however, please gather some information about the bike before we could even start discussing mods. Unless you tell us about the bike, it would be hard to imagine and get right advise from this forum.Last edited by SriramEfunds; 12-06-2010, 09:53 PM.RX100 1996 | Karizma 2004 | Karizma-R 2011 | RXZ 1999 | RX 135 1998 | RX 100 1993 | CBF150 2005 - 2011

Bore size (standard, 1st oversize etc)
Port jobs if carried out any
Ask him what exactly been carried out when he did a restoration, would give you an idea of what has gone inside the bike.Originally posted by johnsingam View Post@nithin- have checked the paper. fc done till 2013. restored and ran 8500. he is 3rd owner. but paper is still in 2nd owner name.
From the information provided, shall take it forward to discuss the mods.RX100 1996 | Karizma 2004 | Karizma-R 2011 | RXZ 1999 | RX 135 1998 | RX 100 1993 | CBF150 2005 - 2011
