I know...I've always wanted the Jawa or Yezdi but it just never became an ACTIVE hunt from my side. Then this one just lands in my lap! So I'm adding the D250 Classic to the collection which now looks like this:

            RX135 135cc, 4 speed, 14 bhp
            RD350 350cc, 6 speed, 28 bhp
            TZR250 250cc, 6 speed, 50 bhp
            MT01 1670cc, 5 speed, 94 bhp
            D250 Classic 250cc, 4 speed, 16 bhp
            Bullet Std. 350cc, 4 speed, 18 bhp
            Karizma 223cc, 5 speed, 17 bhp

Arun - thanks man. Your RXZ is so well thought out that I definitely need that kind of attention to detail for the Yezdi and even my other bikes. Lets meet up for lunch soon.

I want to keep it looking like a D250 classic. I'll give it the best paint and chrome but all this after I source some parts and stock up on spares. If this doesn't seem possible then I may not be able to justify an overhaul.

Mumbai Yezdi faithful...I would really appreciate if you guys could join me at Ghatkopar tomorrow for the grand opening of my latest acquisition. The starter is jammed (it moves between starter and gear position but once in starter position it cannot be kicked) and I need your instant tips/suggestions for what to do next.

I'll be at the workshop at 9:30am Saturday morning. You can meet me across the road from Shopper's stop at Ghatkopar. I'll buy you breakfast

2 hours of restoration madness...whats not to like?

That, if I am not mistaken is a Classic. And looks like the head was painted - which might mean that he has opened the head - which he wouldn't do for no reason - :P

                    Just speculating

Cosmetically looks good - now if you can find an original piston (the next OS in case engine work is due - the larger mechanical head aches are prolly dealt with. IIRC you only get Goetze piston rings now ..

Check the pipes mate - hope they haven't been opened up for rechroming et al.

Congrats on the new inclusion to your stable.
looking at the side panels,it looks like a Model B.In that case it gives all the more value.
What about the papers for the bike?

I'm opening the bike up this morning and I'll upload pictures here ASAP. I can tune an RD350 with a blindfold but I have NEVER touched a Yezdi before so I'll be drawing lots of blanks. Not sure of carb settings on a piston port bike either!

Papers are clean but I haven't seen them myself. As this bike belonged to a coworker who I report to with a dotted line, I can safely assume everything is in order except maybe the Insurance and FC both of which I will get done once the vehicle is running.

Is it a model B? I thought it was a D-250. I guess only the papers can clarify all this!

Sorry to hear that! Get well soon and come get your hands dirty! My Yezdi needs a LOT of work by the look of things!

So I am at the garage to open up the Yezdi and get it started today. Some pictures:

So what does the above number mean? This one is for the guys who know bikes by their serial numbers!

Hi gsferrari,Its Model B.To confirm this check if the bike dates back to late 70s or early 1980.

Spent all my time up until now tuning the RD350. Just got done with that and I am waiting for the "Yezdi Specialist" to show up so we can get started on the bike you are all waiting to hear about.

In the meanwhile I've been looking around on the internet for pics of the bike but I cannot find any. My bike has the new-style headlight whereas all the B type bikes I've found on the internet have the dome-style headlight. Is my bike a parts bin special?
