Re: Differences & Similarities between 135cc RX series
]Hi.
I am having a doubt on setting the height of carburetor float in my rx135.
And it is emitting a lots of smoke in the beginning. It is running is std size bore.
With new crank seals and bearing.
Can anyone help me in setting up the carb. The float height and the a/f mixture.

To my knowledge, both 100 and intial batch of 135 (RX135 and RXZ) (until the 5 speed type casing) they both are same. The 5 speed casing came with small size oil pump and was even told that we cannot caliberate the oil flow unless the preceeders.Originally posted by neelesh4 View PostHi

Seniors, need some help here..
Can someone tell me the measurement of exhaust port of RX135 5 speed block taken from inside the liner? If not, can someone take a measurement of the stock setup and let me know. Ideally I would require length and height, in millimeter if possible or cm. This would help to know if the cylinder is ported while going to second hand one, though there are others to fiddle with.

Thank you Sree and Dual disc. Great help from your part. I will definitely keep in mind the markings to check the genuinity.Originally posted by dual disc 200 View Post^ & Also connecting rods with "Xing" Imprinted on it... Watchout that there are crank being sold by YASS without 2YA.

Ideally the crank assy should have the marking 2YA on the connecting rod on one side. Watchout that there are crank being sold by YASS without 2YA.Originally posted by rxdude View PostDoes this apply to Rx 135 also. The part number starts with 2YA. In the drawing in parts catalogue, there is YAMAHA written on one side.
What about 2YA? Is it written on the other side.
Apart from the connecting rod is there any marking on the flywheel to check the genuinity of the crank assy?

Is there any difference between the wiring kit of RX 135 and R X G. When I asked for the wiring kit the guy asked specifically whether its for 135 or R X G. If so where it differs. Please clarify this doubt.

1. The reason is 4S part number starts with 2YA for 135 and 36L for 100. Thanks for the clarification.
2. Lol... now, define your examples
3. Ok. Can I use 135 assembly on a 100?

5. that's what I thought too, just checked to make sure my understanding is correct.
Oh...those were my words ' Master, Teach me!'.
The Items HAVE to be different if the part numbers are different.Originally posted by SriramEfunds View Post@Karthik:- Thanks.

Oh...those were my words ' Master, Teach me!'.
Yamaha will not take the trouble of giving different part numbers to the same item.
2 statements to support my claim:
- Anyone who has seen the parts catalog for the RX100 / RX135 / RXZ can see that there are a large number of items that still carry a 1A1 prefix (from the RD350). So logistically it is easier to maintain an inventory
- As I discussed with u the other day, how Yamaha is now Superseding part numbers for similar items to cut down on this very Logistical nightmare ...
Also remember, that in many cases items like the Oil Pump, etc are different for the bikes after Chassis number 005466 (RXZ 4-speed specific)
So in a nutshell:
Why will Yamaha take the trouble of giving different part numbers, and different sort box numbers and different prices, if the part are the same?!!!
Case in point:
I have an RX100 Parts catalog from 1985 and I have an RXG catalog from 1997 even there the oil pump has different part numbers.
Even if both are visually same, the parts are definitely different ...
For Eg.
In the RXG and the RXZ (before 05466) have a different Gear Drive and Hose for the oil pump than the RX100.
Post 05466, the the gear drive and the hose are the same as RX100 but the worm shaft is different ....
Hope I could clarify this
If further information is needed, I can dig deeper and let u guys know ...Last edited by sixspeedtwin; 11-22-2011, 05:53 PM.
