  • Longest done on a 2-stroke.

    Hey everyone...
I know this may seem absurd but i was very curious about the longest trip people at xbhp have done on their marvelous wonders,a.k.a the 2 strokes.i myself owning an rx have not ventured too far but have done about 250 kilometers from bangalore to the outskirts of mysore and back. Also,i was wondering as to when a 2 stroke bike generally starts to overheat.Like after how many kilometers of continous riding at pretty fast pace?If any of you xbhpians could put in your suggestions,it would really be helpful and very much welcomed.

@steveburnside2001-wow!that's a lot of ground covered at that speed. Were there any signs of piston seizure or any faults with the bike after the ride?

@wierdsan-How reliable is your rd?Is it practically trouble-free or there some faults with it?
          anyhow,thanks for your inputs guys.

Regarding My rx...I never maintained my rx.It was a bike I thrashed a lot.It had done about 40 000kms when I took it for a ride, the bike was running on its last oversize pistn, the bike had seized and it was still going strong, no issues with the bike.

The longest trip was in Delhi - Ladakh -Delhi - Kolkata (5000+ KMS) total. - RX 135 - 5 speed (stock engine).

And the longest single day ride was - 623 KMS... (Kolkata - Jamshedpur - Ranchi - Kharagpur) - Tata Bearings Monsoon Rally.... The bike was thrashed like anything.... But it still going strong.... The Rally bike (RX135 5speed) is midly ported with an expansion chamber on.

@jshome-Just out of curiosity, how much mileage do you think that rx would've given in that long run??

on my rx 100 back in 1999,done only 185kms in 3 hrs, just one break of five minute.

if ur talking about 2stroke bike or scooter both then i hav done 495 kms in 16 hrs on bajaj chetak with pillion.

Many same day trips to chandigarh on my RX100, Bajaj Chetak and some on the RD350 aswell which calculates to almost 450 KM's some of them with just petrol breaks, majority with the Pillion. never had no problems lately a lil bit problems with the RX but nothing major.

The stock one returned a mileage of 22-24 on the hills and 28-30 on the flats. We had to carry fuel on jerry cans after tandi....

The ported one gives a mileage of 20-22 max.
