            Don't worry

I think it wud hardly give any problem. Recently I had to ride Honda Activa from Gurgaon to Chandigarh, as I have to send it to Chandigarh to where it belongs. We did 2-Up on it, most of the time ripping at full throttle (70-80 KMPH ). Stopped for tea & snacks only 2 times. Hardly broke a sweat. KM done in that journey is 308 KM. Totally problem free. But I really missed riding my Bullet Campus on that awesome Highway NH-1 .
My point is if Activa can do it, RX can definetely do it.

@Deepak:- It was nice to meet you with RX during Inter-state ride, did you check on the engine oil leak? Don't worry, all you will need to do it is to change complete engine oil seals. Do try Motul 5100 engine oil, when you are done enough on odo with the current oil.

You will need to give RX a better lighting. Contact bangalore guys for Rddreams.com lighting kit (90/100). You'll be able to use 60/55w and see yourself with a big smile.

Proof: Aargee, myself and many more.

I think rx's can do it!!!!!!!!!

I rode fr 400 + kms in a day and at a average speed of 65-70 and got a good mileage of 43.....But only thing i think is of the 2T oil which it requires so i suggest is to keep a litre of 2t oil handy and at times it gets heated up and starts sounding different.....a 15min stop is awesome..............

I have toured with my RX100 in Uttaranchal and HImachal, couple of times. the only thing is to premix 2T in the tank even if your oil pump is running, and yes to keep extra 2T Oil if you stick to a particular brand or else you get the 2T pouch for scooters everywhere. And just make sure while touring you dont just drag her to heat up the engine.... continour riding for 2 to 3hrs was never a problem with my RX100.

Once me (re500 CI) and a friend (rx 135 5s) were returning from b'lore to chennai on the NH , we had covered abt 290 km and there was just abt 70 odd kms left. The road was empty and straight so my friend asked if v culd drag, so v did and both were neck and neck at whatevr the topspeed was, n suddenly the rx went kaput. a "permanent seizure"! damn I then had to tow the thing for 70 freakkin kms with my leg. phew! I thought the trip would nevr end.

the tell tale signs of a seizure in the making will be evident if you have a keen ear. you will hear a sort of pinging off-beat sound and if you do, shut the throttle immediately, let it cool for a bit and then add some more oil (depending on the fuel left) and never exceed 7000 rpm then you shuld be fine I guess.

I myself experienced one although that was on a more extreme RX with a bored out 175 kit, close ratio 5-spd and a smacking loud exhaust. I was on the ecr one late night and thought I shuld try and max it out. I was at its top speed (abt 150 kph i think)when I heard a loud pop and the bike locked its rear wheel some how avoided crashing and came to a grinding halt. That was it , the kick lever was jammed along with the wheel, so gave my friend a call and told him abt the incident( it was his bike). Miserably this happnd 500 mts from my house so I had to drag it home with the tyre locked. latr on the engine was dismantled and my friend gave the piston to me as a sovenigr (how the hell do u spell that damn word) , it had a nice big hole on top, I kid u not u could have fit a tennis ball in it ..... I still have that piston
lookin for another corny line ??

you can very well go touring on an RX.
I ve travelled thousands of kms including a 2500 kms trip to leh ladakh in 2008.. absolutely trouble free..
there are a few things u need to keep in mind when touring on an rx compared to the newer four strokers.
                            • ride quality is a bit harsh unless you have modded the shocks.
high speed stability not as good as newer heavier bikes.
power and load carrying capacity more than enough.
better upgrade the lights if u plan to ride at night.
reliability not an issue if you have maintained it well i dint have a single breakdown throughout my leh ladakh trip on my 11 yr old rx 135.
good to carry 1 ltr 2 T oil and bottles to carry 5 ltrs petrol when going to leh ladakh type places.
carry spares and also know how to replace them
                              good luck n happy biking

I did many one day trips on my RXG. All were near about 300kms. RX is very reliable on long rides.
Cold weather is good friend of two stroke. you wont feel any problem in ride quality even if you do 200kms in a stretch. but if its hot outside, 15 20 mins stop is recommended in each 80 kms.
keep extra spark plug and cap in rainy season at it gets blow easily when moisture enters cap. and dont forget to cover tank with tank bag or by some other means to avoid water entering in tank.
these are the only problems i faced on weekend rides.

as many guys said, always have 20ml/ltr 2T premix even if oil pump is working.

only thing i am missing on long rides with RX is, Top End.
on highways, i always ride in range of 50-70. once i reach 70, or cross it, engine feels much stressed. mine GB is 4speed. would opting to 5speed GB will increase relaxed cruising speed?
