I don't know what to say, there're technicals involved & the ones you showed me are not motocross may be crossbars thoughOriginally posted by rubber_stamp_champ View PostHow about the motocross handle???
See the mount point of the handle bars (marked in RED circle) & that is what I'm talking about. Let me know if you still didn't understand & then I can go ahead & explain it for you.
And now compared it with FZ's...
Plus the so called motorcross is only a connecting rod that is welded on to both the sides of handlebar that you can choose to do right from Gladiator, Pulsar, stock RXZ to even supero super splendor Lol!!!Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

Today was lazy. Only a few small fixes after I reached the workshop post lunch. Handle bar was already fixed. Indicators, clutch levers, debris covers, throttle and clutch cables etc were fixed. Since the old clutch levers had a slightly greater play, they are due for a replacement.
Tomorrow's job would be to fix up speedo and tacho, tail section, tank, panels, handle grips, lights etc. Might consume the next day as well, but the mechanic has agreed upon giving the bike on Saturday. Fingers Crossed!
Today's lot of pics:

You might aswell go in for the Suzuki Shogun handle bars. They are the right fit as far as it goes on the RX's series.'
Here in BLR many have the Shogun handle bar on the RXZ.It might be hard to source a genuine one but the local ones are as good.
Aren't you getting the stock indicators.I think they look better. Also for the rear tyre get the MRF Moto-D...pretty good for dry conditions...sigpic

Hey guys!
Really sorry to keep you lurching for yesterday's updates. Had to go out planning something big!
Yesterday was the day of goodies and delights. I was all the more excited to find the bike coming back into shape as one after the another, new parts were fixed and even with the smallest of nut and bolts, the bike got one step closer to getting restored.
The problem arose with the pilot lamp and the Silencer. A lot of numbers were dialed including those of Carlton, Delhi Scooters, Green Automobiles and a lot of shops were hunted for the same. But everything in vain. However, the mechanic asked me to call up Carlton one more time and this time, he talked over the phone. We were somehow able to source a genuine (but used for 400 km) RX100 (or 135, still to confirm) silencer and were told that the person would sell it for around 1500, to which the humble mechanic told that he would bargain for the same. But it was quite surprising to know the price of a new silencer to be 2200!!!

I can get a chamber made adding some more bucks to it! Other than that, the grips were fixed, levers were changed to originals and shockers were fixed.
Enough of blabbering now. I would let the pictures do the talking now.

Today was the day of leat activity as only the break lever was fixed and few other minor things were done. Although, towards the end of the day I was extremely happy when we actually started the with "without" the silencer and without the tank. the former is yet to be sourced and the latter was wet yet after paint. Also, we were able to source out the pilot lamp, although local made. but looks good to me. Another peoblem for us is sourcing the headlight. We were not able to find out either Minda or Lumax for the same. The mechanic, who damn insists on using genuine parts, for the first time told me that we can try the headlight from CD Dawn etc.
Another doubt that I have is regarding the battery. Can someone tell me if it would be right to fit Amaron? I've seen them in smaller size, the one that can be fitted in the RZ series. However, the mechanic says that they should not be the one manufactured for "Self Start". Is there any difference between the one made of SS and the one made for KS?? The main reason that I want to fit Amaron is because of their maintenance free nature and a freaking 5yr warranty!
Help appreciated! The best things in life are realized on two wheels!
