Going by the response this thread is generating, can say one thing-hardcore 2stroke riders like me or kb125 are becoming very rare.any way 2 people adam & eve started this world.same way may be two odd 2stroke guys wil rack their brains and come up with a perfect shogun, which will smoke alot of BIG BORE 4 JOKES (upto 250cc) WITHIN A KILOMETRE. Keep the ideas rolling kb125.

yup got the no , for putting those headlamps you will need to upgrade the lighting coil of your bike , try getting it rewound to support a 90/100 watt halogen bulb,......... as for the zen fiasco , i thought that it was while supplying parts for the bike , i think you should contact mach50 he has a ported shogun
5 speed tranny i think that can also be done, somebody here already has one here already , i think its coolkar
foot pegs ,are these the once used in the dirtbikes (the ones with spikes)

i dont know its pricing but i know they will be extremely expensive and they have to be imported , most people use osram or Phillips or halonix , it should in theory allow that

I have a complain to make out here.when i started this thread, i hoped that that may be this thread wil become benchmark for discussing the boss.i mean i have seen people go gaga over shogun commercial till date.but apart from me and kb100 no one has ever contributed any thing.has the boss become a pariah or me & kb are from jurrasic age?i would love to remind anyone that shogun properly done up can outsmoke any vehicle 2,4, or 6(if it comes) stroke vehicle in its class.apart from joel, any one has rode the shadow over here?i rode a shadow twice and belive me that bike is shogun on steroids.pickup was out of this world, handling was just so smooth.but the person who owned this bike never sold it to me. So my request to all shogun lovers is -even if not hi funda tech mods, share your good memories with us in this thread.coz am sure apart from burning holes in your pocket, this bike only brings back good memories and faint smile on your lips.

Lol!! passionate guy Ok ok I have a story...

In college when my RX135 4S was new, and I was in my first year. In the first month of college i met a guy with a Yam 5 speed and another with a Shogun. It was pretty new and well kept. Now both our Yamaha's were fast but they didn't have the 'Attitude' the Boss had. When we started out, it was a racket!!! and tons of blue vapor!!!! now the time of the pulsar had just started and there were a group of P180's (original ones) who just loved to brag about "no substitute for CCs". But it all came to a head one warm Nov afternoon. We decided to end it with a quick spin around the college area. Now we weren't going to be going flat out as there was a lot of traffic, but all the more better! top speed was going hand in hand with handling! So we took our sleek and svelte beauties out and lined them up with the fat ass pulsars....from the word go there was no competition...we took off so damn fast that I thought there were only 3 of us in the race. Honestly, it was my first experience, and the first time I was testing my RX.The Shogun and the 5speed were ahead and I trailed close behind (cursing under my breath about the lack of an extra cog god!@#$$%&it!!!!). The Pulsars, surprisingly were putting up a good fight, could be good riders I thought. But just as soon as it started it was over in a puff of blue vapor. ROFL! The 5 speed won it. The 5 speed was a hair's breadth ahead of the shogun. I was just behind the shogun. Perfect 1-2-3 finish for us strokers. The pulsars just grunted clumsily by. There were a few points I noted from simply observing:

                      1. The Shogun begged to be ridden fast. It just did not want to stand still. And at 8,500 rpm (not sure) who can blame it?

                      2. The Yamaha 5 speed, although it won it seemed a teeny weenie bit lazy.

                      3. Mine had a long way to go before opening up but the pick up was awesome! Mind you the 5 speed had an original silencer. While I had the fat catcon it still wasn't a slouch.

                      4. The P180's - The never wanted to talk about it for the next 3 years nor did they want to park anywhere near our bikes.

Here's the kicker. My two friends moved on after college and today ride a pulsar 220 and 200 respectively. The P180 guys, between themselves own 2 Shoguns, 1 Shaolin and 3 RX models. I don't really know who has what but there it is.

I learnt that day it was all about the rider where 2 strokes were concerned. In the hands of an excellent rider these two strokes would be lethal. They all handle well and pick up and acceleration is off the map. But if you don't know how to ride them......the less said the better. Trust me, because a few weeks later I lost to a CD100SS!!!!!!!

Looking back, I wouldn't change anything!!! But I never lost to one again!

I'll never forget that banshee-like scream of the Shogun. It was one of a kind and cannot be compared. And you are right. It still does bring on a faint smile.

I beat most of these 135 4-speeders on my HH Splendor. It is ultimately the rider, but when RX is modified, its better not to mess with it !!!!!!

Btw, loved your KB + RX combo. Sweet.

Ya all can see that am planning a major upgrade for my gun.so a couple of weeks back i took seabiscuit(ma shogun) to a person who in mid nineties was indias top notch racers.sorry cant take his name without his permission.lets call him S.any way i tell s about my grand plans.he smiles and asks me to wait for an hour.then he comes out wearing his motocross boots and helmet.he asks me to follow him in his car while he rides.you people wont belive that he flogged my gun to nearly 100km ph within such a short distance, that my jaws dropped.he told me that only upgrade he can think of is engine done by zen and may be rear disc.i asked him how did he manage to pull this feat? He smiled and said that of all the two strokes that has ever been produced in india, shogun is the only bike which u should learn how to ride, not just ride.he said when he used to ride his rally prepped shogun in the races, after 80/90kms from the staring point,he used to become shogun.i didnot get the concept though.
