  • K&N filter for Shogun?

    Hi,
Can anyone shed some light upon using a K&N air filter for a Shogun? Is there one available? If I know the particular model number, I can import it. Anybody tried using K&N on a 'gun?

    Thanks,
    Basu

you'd rather invest in a good chamber..jetting the shogun can be one back-breaking task

A shogun of all the bikes to tinker with. Leave it alone man. As it is, u hardly get any parts, over that u want to do the works. Putting a freeflow filter without jetting a 2-stroke = a clean seizure.

Thanks Atul and Joel. Actually after posting this thread I called up pshyco and he also suggested to keep the stock foam filter. So I will NOT tinker with the bike. I just love her so much.

I had fitted UNI air filter and did sproketing and jetting the bike was quicker it was hitting 110 very quick on speedo

Here is a pic of the filter :

If you want to do some serious stuff on shogun get a chamber..

Hey did you get the tank and shield

May be this question is dumb can anyone care to expalin about jetting ! is it changing over to bigger size jets for both pilot and mains.

In my case i had changed the main jet and adjusted the throttle pin accordingly

with a filter kit like a UNI, you have to compensate for more air flow..This would include upjetting your mains and pilots both. Most people prefer to change the mains only..but for a smoother transition from pilots to mains, its suggested you match both

@atul: yes it was done. actually it was temporary setup so did bother(didnt have enough time) to change the pilot jet but it was tuned by safe hands

Atul thanks for the info, I am running on 27 pilots on my rx, what is the main jet size that i should opt for, how much ML of oil should be applied for the uni !
