I'm going for the Duke wheel setup and am unsure If I'll be able to fit the RD350 sprockets and the chain on her. For now I've held back on the sprocket and chain setup until the the wheels are fitted.

As for now the spares have started trickling in (atleast the local ones). Here are some pics





The 2nd pic (left image) is a very poor paint job attempt, but this is what I finally want her to look like ( The Mrs. hates the seat as she wont be able to sit for a ride). Cant wait for the tyres and other spares to show-up so that I can start the Indian stage of the build.

Hi All,

Posting a few pics of the KTM spares collected till now. These are all minor and major items for the Duke alloy and disc setup.

Below are some of the items that are yet to be procured as few were missed by the spares part guy during ordering(first 3) and the 4th item came in wrong. My tyres are still on backorder and don't know when I'll get them........

1. Top T-Section plate.
2. Rear Disc fuild reservoir and cable.
3. Rear Sprocket hub and sprocket rubbers.
4. Front Disc Plate - Was surprised to see a 200 disc plate (280mm) inside Duke 390 packaging. Returned and re-ordered.
5. Metzeler Tyres.

I need your help with the swing arm. I want to retain the old twin shock. All the wide swing-arms available ( P-220,CBR 250,etc..) have mono-shocks. Can someone suggest me a swingarm I could scavenge from any of the existing bikes??

Plz dont get RR unit from US as its different from the Indian RD's waste of money
also no need to pay 30 USD for rubber manifolds just buy from a good reputed shop ( RX 100) or RX 135 and you can have the U tube set up .
Also if you are looking for a airfilter to fit in the air box you could get The UNI or K & N one. also you could get the filter care kit an authorised K& N dealer ( but you will have to find the genuine one) no need to get from abroad it will save from weight & custom percentage too.

Thanks for the reply crankd. Can you tell me whats the difference in the RR unit. If this is something that wont fit, I'll definitely wont buy

Quick update on the item front.

India build -
1. Top T-Section plate. - Procured ( The new costs 4200Rs with VAT!!, Got this from a junkyard for 500 bucks)

US Build -
I have made changes to the list based on your valuable suggestions. Will definitely rethink on the RR if it doesnt suit our RDs. Here's the final list.


A very rare find!!
I made an awesome buy last week while travelling back on my Yezdi(what a ride!!) to my hometown. A pair of standard LT cylinders with Escorts pistons in a very small town and at a very very reasonable price. I believe I can keep her running for a long time now!!

I hope the build comes out the way I'm expecting it to be.

I hope you are not spending 50 USD on carb intake , I will PM you why , cant type it in open . also why only 1 ign coil you need to have two. The RR unit is no no, fitting is not issue the Indian RD electrical is different for that you will have to change comeplete electricals. Boyseen reeds are good but think in the long run , get the other ones I will email you which ones to buy.

since I cant send you a PM I will say it here the 50 USD you are paying on the carb intake are actually made in India. the best reeds & long lasting are the YZF 125 also an Yamaha OEM product. so this is from my experience on my RD I had once upon a time

Decided on the 220 swing-arm as a base because


a. It supports twins shocks.
b. The rear fittings of the master cylinder, axle length is similar to the Dukes.
c. Needed a wider swing-arm to support the rear tyre.


The plan is to have no / minimal changes to the chassis. So -


a. The 220 swingarm mounts at the front had to be changed to retain RDs center axle and bushes.
b. The swing arm length would be increased to 11\".
c. Need to modify the rear sprocket as well to mount it on the Duke\'s sprocket hub.
d. Rear Shock-up mounts also need to be modified / moved to take the RD shocks.


Hopefully, the sprocket and shock-up mounts will be done today.

a. Restore Cupid to her former self.
b. Get the cafe bike Deimos a new paint scheme.
