Re: Restoring a Enfield Explorer.......help required!!!
Gone through the URL, the closest match is in page 5, Item No. 327. its size is 8cm, so i think it fits on the Explorer tankOriginally posted by eminemjohn View PostByw I tried to find such logo in india and ended up here
Royal Enfield Golden Lightening 500 Petrol Tank Sticker
Request you to please give a suggestion on which sticker to use if i have to make the Indian one I am not sure how perfect our sticker guys can manage and if its the logo from the link is it of superior quality i am not sure and also it says its for Bullet 500 so i am not sure if it would fit Explorer tank.
Btw i also got the number plate done with the duplicate IND BLUE with embossed numbers
Will post pics soon....

Re: Restoring a Enfield Explorer.......help required!!!
Why so much stress for oil seals & O rings
you could get them from any of these
1) Spare parts shop which sell old car parts like ambassador , fiat , HM , mahindra .
2) any water pump shop electrical or diesel .
3) Seals & O rings of other bikes .
4) Rickshaw workshop's too.
most imp take the old oil seals with you go to a garage which is operating from past 20 to 30 yrs , just meet the oldest mech in there show him the oil seals he will tell you which modern bikes will have a suitable match . I have experienced this myself.
N.B. never buy old stock oil seals as they will be hard & are of no use , if you install them after few days they would go for a toss. So take some time , search hard for them ,install them right & have a peace of mind . Its going to be worth your effort.

Re: Restoring a Enfield Explorer.......help required!!!
Yes bro this will be my last option if i have to do this method i would definetly ask for support on how did u do it for your Pearl step by step detialed steps 😊 thanks again broOriginally posted by Balgi View PostYes I am. It used to be done for big British bikes. Though there were no oil leaks with this method, there was always a stiffness to the shocks and they were more prone to wear out and fail. If you have the old oil seal with you then just go to any big rubber manufacturer and get the same grade rubber and have them cut to spec. I did that for my Pearl Yamaha 1969. Most all rubber parts were missing on it. Do check tvs excel super and hero Honda oil seals (older models) it should be a match. Though I could be wrong.Rx 100 1986

Re: Restoring a Enfield Explorer.......help required!!!
if your inner tube dia is 28mm then try the ones from tvs xl super (the one with normal shocks not the ones with tvs 50 front end ) it should match, without knowing the diameter of your inner tube its difficult to make a suggessionLast edited by kb100; 11-27-2014, 03:20 PM.Kawasaki KB100/enduro/125 substitute parts list http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/508615-post105.html

Re: Restoring a Enfield Explorer.......help required!!!
Yes ur right the inner tube OD is 28 and outer tube ID is 38 and height is not a prob as the bend in the outer as seen in the pic is quite big generaly for this size the height/width wont be more than 7~9.Originally posted by kb100 View Postif your inner tube dia is 28mm then try the ones from tvs xl super (the one with normal shocks not the ones with tvs 50 front end ) it should match, without knowing the diameter of your inner tube its difficult to make a suggessionRx 100 1986

I inquired with some bullet mechanics and found out that the tvs xl super should be a match and they said they'd look out for authentic ones but it was not worth the money.
Also I would love to give you detailed info about my Pearl Yamaha build but I seem to have lost all my before and during pics I only have the after pics.
Btw the front end on the Pearl Yamaha is not the hydraulic spring type as seen on most bikes. I'll post a pic if I can to make you understand. Its rather unique.

Re: Restoring a Enfield Explorer.......help required!!!
Appears to be the same oil seals used on HH CD100. You can take the existing one to a multi brand stockist and ask him for CD100 fork oil seals and compare to see if it matches, this may look awkward but you never know it could be what you were looking for.Originally posted by eminemjohn View Post
One more.... See the condition of the seal its been brutally abused
