Thanks for the good vibes fellas

Received the funds today. Grabbed a big backpack and hit the market. I have a friendly distributor so getting the parts was a cakewalk so far. Here's a list of what I got

        1. Brand New Bore
        2. Brand New Crank
        3. TVS- Suzuki OEM oil seal kit
        4. All the bearings from the SKF manual
        5. An OEM stickering Kit
        6. Lumax front headlight unit and tail light
        7. Both the side panels
        8. OEM gear shaft and shifter
        9. Suzuki Clutch plates and pressure plates [ The TVS OEM are a no no]
        10. Brand new Chain sprocket kit
        11. Clutch Rebuild kit
        12. Cone-set bearings
        13. Headlight ears
        14. Swingarm bushes

        Parts yet to be found

        1. Gear Cog 3rd gear
        2. Front fairing [ Swingarm Im hoping you can help me here]
        3. Need to figure out rear suspension
        4. A good tyre [rear]
        5. A good frontend replacement [ disc brake]
        6. Rear suspension

The chassis and other cycle bits have already been sent for stripping and painting..A good bake paint job and some good quality paint is also in the pipelines as looks is also a priority here..This bike should be up and running very soon and then I can get to a bit of performance tuning on it

@ swingarm - thanks for the wishes. I'll need your help in finding a front fairing. and oh yea..pradeep has always been very positive with me right from the beginning..I really appreciate that about him

@ pradeep - the banshee reed cage is about 12 mm wider than the stock shogun cage. The stock Intake flange on the shogun has walls of 18mm each thick..I think 6mm each side should not be a problem..The petals of the banshee cage are 22mm wide compared to the 16mm stock cage..It results in over a 50% increase in flow area plus the banshee fiber reed valve system is a way more evolved and efficient reed valve system [ You are using the same on your RX so you'd definitely know the difference]

Besides the shogun exhaust looks anything but small to me..An upgraded intake would be awesome, if not an overkill..Mind you this bike is gonna be a running a 28mm flatslide

@ jayprashanth - thanks man..REP..yea..well working on it..hope it all goes well ..fingers crossed

@ nihkil - finding spares was easy so far man..I thinks its the cosmetics that took the effort..bearings, oil seals and engine parts were easy for the shogun..I guess it should be difficult for the shaolin..My distributor had a full shaolin stickering kit and 2 oversize pistons for the shaolin in stock too..We decided to keep them for future rebuilds

@ yamdoot - thanks nitesh bhai..yea i dumped the pulsar headlight the first thing..this thing is gonna be restored as far as the looks go...The paint..well you'll see I have a small plan

@ shivanshu and serpentkillers - thanks for the wishes..I'll keep you all updated

ps: insaneroller has no clue about this as he's in hongkong at the moment..I got an sms from the bugger he cant wait to see the bike
Is he in for the shock of his life or what

Tomorrow need to go setup the engine..rebuild clutch components and start assembly..and of course decide up on the paint once and for all
        will update very soon...

        Cheers

Atul - great project and thanks for reviving this awesome ringading.

Rongom is in for a shock when he rides the bike the way it was meant to be. Are you going to put some Motorhead pipes on it?

Atul are these OEM ovesizes for the Shaolin? I believe TVS never released oversizes for the Shaolin piston!

Everyones got their own opinion dude. I have a friend that swears by him for his Karizma yet he too agrees with what I said earlier. He warned me about it when recommending him. Its human nature to be biased towards someone we know very well.

All said, he's a very nice guy and takes the time to explain everything in detail. I remember having a 1 hour conversation with him. Especially for me, its very important to be dealing with someone who speaks English. It just makes me more comfy about the whole thing.

@ atul - i think tvs guys didnt release oversize pistons for shaolin, only std is avilable. few technicians use Toppro piston from yamaha vr 150(thailand). U shud be having experience . Can u explain in detail about using these oversizes.
@ atul - can u specify details about suzuki clutch plates u bought. These days SGP clutch plates are not available. Suzuki means from Zeus or something else ?

atul - which carburator upgrade is good for shogun and shaolin ?
Is it RX135 4 speed or RXZ 5 speed.
