I went into the factory now... Three roadkings in 'good' condition available at 18k apiece... Two 350s at 15k apiece, but they didn't look very good to me... These are incomplete, with the seats missing and stuff, and even the engine didn't look very good to me, the bore seemed quite rusty, and the one bike in which I tried getting the kick lever out, it was VERY tight... I would not recommend these 350s at anything over 10k... They claim to still have a good amount of engine spares left for the roadking and the 350... All other 250 engine spares exhausted... They still want 7k for a 350 engine, which is DEFINITELY going to be in worse condition than the one fitted on the two bikes... One of the local workers there told me that the bastids are actually hiking the rates as the days go by, coz these are the last few bits left in the factory... So, ur paying a LOT to get the stuff tht has got rejected the most!!! I personally would NOT buy anything more from the factory...

Lotsa mudguards left, but you have to go into the factory, to the storage place... Those jokers will not find it for you... But, you will need to get it chromed again... Also LOADS of original Jawa tanks (the teardrop), and the Yezdi tank... Roadking tanks, none, to thebest of my knowledge...

i went to the yezdi fact this saturday and whata pity to see.loads of engine cases and bores were lying scattered all over inside the godown.there were 2 350ccs and 3-250s all for sale which r not new.the tyres were worn out .so that means they were rebuilt machines.there was a 250cc CLii outside the godown which was very new but the seat was worn-off may be coz it was lying there for years.they bike was washed and looked like new.there is also a drag-race 250cc roadking with full fairing fibre body and someone told me taht they cud touch upto 180kmph on straight line.i din know whether thats for sale.the bike was a real stunning machine and hand made.i also spotted a car made using the yezdi colt's 50cc engine in the service room.i also found a scooter like yezdi and a 250cc road race yezdi with full fairing.he quoted 25k for the bike before and later said that it is not for sale.i was shocked to see the entire plant just lying there like a corpse.some of the parts were still on the machines.there was a room full of tanks all rusted away to glory.it is a real pity to see that such a prosperous company is dying a dog's death.i was really taken aback looking at the company.i still wonder why didn't any other company have the balls to come and take over the yezdi brand if the previous management didn't do well.i was lucky enuff to take home a manual, road atlas,2 horns, some bulbs,etc..etc but those bastards asked me to pay them 750rs for that.at last i had to leave half the things there and still paid them 200rs.however a legend is always a legend and a bike like yezdi will always have fans and will always remain a legend on the face of this earth.i left the company with wet eyes and a broken heart.Where there is a will there is a way! Where there is a way there is a Fiero! Where there is a Fiero there is a Fieroid!

Hey Joe, have any trouble finding the factory? Those 'fairing' models you mention, one of them belongs to one of the bastids... The other, the one thats standing with those 5 bikes, Im not really sure bout, I believe its a Roadking, made up to look like a 50s-60s racer... As for the bikes being 'rebuilt', I do hope you realise that EVERY bike sold from the factory is 'rebuilt' ... There were a FEW 250s that had been assembled in the glory days of the factory, but all of those went to either the family, the liquidators, or other close friends... The stuff you saw still on the machines... I actually found about three bores, of which ONE was ported, with around three operations left, and the other two had the barrel untouched... Thought Id pick the ported one, but the SOB wanted 500 bucks for it, after selling me a finished bore AND piston for 800 a few days earlier!!! And that kart you saw in the assembly room, I really wonder if the 50cc colt engine could take that weight! The thing doesn't look built according to standard kart specs, would prolly not be very powerful...
The factory was not taken over by anybody, coz the owners refused to sell... The family actually kinda 'broke up' because of teh factory, and the brother (in-law) left to manage the factory refused to upgrade his technology, OR convert the factory into a public limited company... Bankruptcy was the result, and teh reason why nobody bought over immediately was coz the japanese bikes were doing SO well...

i didnt have any troble finding the place coz i have been to mysore few times and i asked some ppl there.tanhx karthik for the info.the place is very easy to find.i spent almost 4 hours there and was really shocked.i also took home the official letter that declared the closure of the company that was displayed in the notice board signed by the MD himself.the letter says that the company had to close coz they had a lot of debts and was bankrupt so they had to close.the last line goes like this.....THERE IS A FINAL JUDGEMENT BY THE COURT ON JULY 1997 WHICH WILL BE THE LAST NAIL ON THE CORPSE...THE TRUTH IS THAT YOU AND ME ARE THE LOSERS OTHERS LOSE NOTHING.
YOurs loving,
xxxxxxxxx
what a letter man! i can imagine the agony the workers went thru during the closure.!Where there is a will there is a way! Where there is a way there is a Fiero! Where there is a Fiero there is a Fieroid!

hey guys dont worry about the engine being tight and rusty and looking like trash..
in 2001 i wanted a engine for a go karting project in my final year..my friend told me that his dads old yezdi classic is lying
junk out in some yard..i thot cool i am gonna get a free engine..tat to 250cc
when i saw the bike man it was like a scrap no headlight, seat foot pegs had all creepers growing around it an old utensil hangin from the handle bar..man it was a funny site ..the bike was out in the open and experianced some 7 years on harsh mangalorean summer and monsoons..
i thot any way lets take the bike and see wat we can do to the engine..
my uncle has considerable experiance in yezdis he had owned 3 before..
we disassembled the engine..and saw the piston /bore was swimming in water which was in the crank case too..my uncle poured i guess a mix of oil and diesel and left it on the engine for 2 days..
then changed the rings( luckly the piston was standard) put new cables...cleaned the carb ..gave the bike a wash..
and on the third day assembled the engine back..greased all parts..and after some 10- 50 kicks the bike started to life after 7 years..i was surprised and never expected it to run..i gave up on the karting project and started riding around the bike lol..the classic is a very good cruises compared to my roadking which feels more like an rx100..
i really agree with the company slogan which aptly goes "forever bike forever value "\"Live dont Exist!!\"
