  • Yamaha RX135 stubborn oil leak

Hello , i am new to this forums and im trying my luck. Maybe someone here may shed some light on what i am encountering right now.

Before i bought this bike , i havent checked the oil , later on i found out there was no transmission oil and i already used it for like 60 kilometers...
Then after putting 650ml of engine oil , this happened the next time i used the bike the moment i turned off the engine this came out from the left side of the engine.

All oil came out , but this leak doesnt happen when the engine is not running.

So i opened it up and found out that all seals are busted and that clutch pushrod oil seal is not the proper seal for this bike i guess it was taken from the Yamaha RS100 with a bigger pushrod hole :

I replaced all the oil seals , replace the shift shaft because it was welded in place , put the proper circlip and washer for the shift shaft oil seal. I also replaced the front sprocket oil seal but im not sure if i did replace everything back together in the right order .

I also replaced every gasket , i bought an overhauling gasket kit that contains all the gaskets of the engine, fixed the right side cover leaks and the oil pump leaks and it also contains the crush washer for the oil drain bolt , it also fixed the small leak there.

So i wrapped that o ring around that bushing, i noticed that my bushing is somehow damaged , warped and have irregular grooves and maybe thats the cause of the oil leak?

    More pics here

That part where there is black oil is not the magneto oil seal , there is a cracked part in my left side cover that lets the oil from the chain splash through the magneto.

    More pics.

Also i noticed that when i wiped my chain clean with no oil , then after using the bike , the chain becomes covered in oil like it has been lubed but i didnt.

Now if someone could manage to get a pic behind that sprocket where the bushing and o ring is located and compare yours to mine , maybe it will solve my problem once and for all . Thank you

Im sorry for the late response , its been a very busy week because of the Finals exam in my college.

Btw , my bike is far from stock , it was in pretty bad shape when i got this , im planning to build a cafe racer.
Im just a student and i dont have much money , well im utilizing what i got and make the best out of it , lol actually non of the parts are sure fit , everything came from many other bikes , retrofitted it using an angle grinder and a drill for the mounting holes.

I cant make teh front drum brake work because this Telescopic Fork came from a honda xrm which is a disc brake lol .

Re: Yamaha RX135 stubborn oil leak

Replaced the collar , the oil seal and the whole left side cover assembly. Im not sure if i ran out of oil or it fixed the problem , btw when i was replacing the seal oil was pouring out , is it normal that the oil can reach that front sprocket shaft , its very high and i didnt run the engine for like 24 hours, the bike was on side stand.

here is the old collar , it doesnt actually look like the stock collar its so oddly shaped , has 2 rails and the end OD is bigger than the other end

No more leaks , after running the bike for like 20 mins
Bike on sidestand , engine off.

that is because its not a collar its an inner race of an old worn out bearing made to fit "make-do"

PS:engine oil capacity is 650ml dont exceed it

Thanks , I tested the bike this afternoon , no leaks , btw is it normal that when i downshift without pulling the clutch , there is a grinding sound inside the engine, this never happens to all of my bikes?
