Things i'd like to adopt from your list

    1. Electricals + CDI

    2. working tacho + speedo (optional )
Would get the z setup if available

I've spotted a crashguard at a yamaha genuine store.

    wheels will be 18" spokes
    rubber will depend on availability.

Front disc - if I can get a good looking one.
Repaint - in the original blue

swing arm - I want the stock swb.
will go for box section only if I ever plan for a rear disc.

I like the way your grabrail is cut. I might do something similar.

AND no matter what, I'll keep the engine stock.

BTW, does the 5 speed gear setup go in the original RHS casing.
I thought the 5 speeds came with the extended oil pump cover to accommodate the 5th cog. but I think i've seen converted 5 speeds in the old casing

If this is possible, where can i source the gears? Are they OE or aftermarket or pulled off a junked bike?
    I have a 135 4s too. that's why.
thats good that you have decided what you want to do but i would strongly recon to go for a 135 5s setup cayse redoing your rx 100 engine with a 100 kit would abe a wastage of money.

and yes the gears are easyily awaiable/.

most mercs come with triple disc. The rotor is like the impeller of a centrifugal pump in this.
I've seen some exotics locally with slotted discs. Not too sure about crossdrilled ones. But in almost all supercar car pics they show ceramic/ cf crossdrilled & slotted/vented discs [Big time nfs fan!]

you dont need to change the engine covers to accommodate 5th use stock engine cover.
the solid disk is really a no no for rx100, better go for a pulsar setup, its most cheaper and reliable one. rx100 with its stock setup more enough braking with pulsar setup

Couple of guys here estimate repainting job to cost around 4-7.5K. Is it possible withing that budget? I was given an estimate of 15K

ttg, sorry for hijacking your thread. My thread on this subject wasnt approved by 'moderators'. Please let us know how much did the repaint job costed when its finally done.

            Absolutely no prob.mate.

The first person on this thread to suggest a paint job quoted 7.5k and the last under 4k probably depends on what all you plan to do and where.
My bro's 135 had a complete strip paint job, galvanizing, plating etc etc . and cost just under 8k. Also, I think he replaced everything on the bike except the engine, tank, handlebar, chain and rubbers. The wheels were plated too.

If i'm to give you the cost of my repaint, it's gonna take a while. (remember the bit about the monsoons!!)

But for 15k you could get a new bike!!. correct me if i'm wrong, you were quoted 15 k from a yamaha sc, rt? Tomorrow I'm going to an ASC nearby and will get a quote. Can't help if they want to see the bike before an estimate.

Hey, thanks for the quick reply! No, the guy who gave me the quote is not a ASC, but no street side mechanic either.

8k sounds really reasonable. Where is this? I presume Kerala.

I am also looking for complete repainting. Not just tank, side covers. But stripping down the bike and painting the frame too. No replacements involved though.

i dont know man but even 8 k sounds too much to me. for 8 k in punjab i would get all done on the bike includes a rebore. and still save money for couple of beers and some petrol

                      .
Well I thought it was quite high. But then Kochi is expensive.
The first 2 pics are the bike 1 yr! after the job.
The pulsar is my old bike. The colour's the regular red. probably the white balance went wrong due to the silver yamaha

The rest are of my bike. I haven't seen it yet. My bro clicked these with his phone and sent to me
It was taken for cleanup yesterday. The bike is literally soaked in oil.
The electricals are 6v. 12v conversion is going on.
The chasis has been repainted before. Still very very rusty.

The tank has caved in on one side, like the bike has fallen on it's side. Otherwise it's good. no rust,no dents etc.

I've got a comprehensive price list. will post it once everything except painting is done.

BTW Anybody know the part number of the petrol filler cap gasket? Seems a little hard to find.

I'm really burning to lay my hands on the bike.

Yeah that's just what was thinking. I thought I'd get the bike running neat before the cosmetics. Any directions?

man i said because, if u take ur silencer for platiing theyll ask 700rs. go with more surface of steel like chair, pipes of table etc. will not cost much.
pm me about ur place and details, i can help u with painting and plating both, both places are not very famous but works are very neat

Exactly. Even I was shocked to hear that. Infact, I got a re-paint sometime in 2003-04. It looks alrite. Costed me around 4k. But then they didnt paint the frame.

Desideep, I wish I was in Punjab

ttg, the silver paint looks good. Cant make out much from the pic u have posted though. I like the job done on chain case cover & gearbox cover. I think the tank will look perfect once the sticker job is complete.

Is that butterfly crashguard on your bike?

The silver bike is my bro's
The 135 never came in silver. It's the rx100 silver with white pinstripe(original was blue).
The stickering is complete. The white stripe doesn't showup that well.
And the paint job is well over a year old at the time of this photo. It was done just superbly.
Yeah that's the butterfly crashguard. I've bought one for my bike too. It's quite easily available here.
