Called up Pacer and DTW to get quote for repaint. Pacer quoted me Rs.20,000 and DTW-Rs.6900, not including chrome job. I have no idea what makes them so costly

@Desideep & Nikhil, the amount you guys are quoting includes chrome job for all nuts & bolts?

ttg, apologies once again. Wouldnt be appropriate to start a thread just for this. Hope you dont mind.

      Be my guest bro
I dunno if I can do anything else to help you.
& Man, your bangalore's real expensive.

      & abt my bike.
my bike's been up & running for the last couple of weeks.
      I drove it frm cochin to tvm. ~220 km in 6 hrs. real slow non-stop. of which i did 200km for 200 rs petrol(4.12l + 2t). avg ~ 50

In the city it is giving a very healthy 30+ kpl.
The rains are already here so no repainting now.

And I've found an acquaintance who'll paint it for free.
I just need to buy the paints.

Chroming and galvanizing maybe I'll do post 15th june.

      Looking forward to your restoration.
As conrod put it. take the work to the individual specialists. but you may need to do some wrenching yourself. It's always a good experience.

P.S. I've been onboard most of the time but was on mobile so couldn't post anything. Don't think this thread is dead or I've given up. I'll be quite busy untill the 15th.

G8 Mine is not a restoration job per se. Its up and running and running damn well. I need a paint job, mainly because I dont want the frame to rust. Its been 23 years!!!

You are lucky! Your acuquaitance has tools to do it? You know, they are making a big deal outta chroming here. They say chroming makes it so expensive.

I think sometime next month I will get this job done at DTW.

Meanwhile, if any b'lore member can give me their opinion regarding the cost involved in this it would be helpful.

he paints 4 weelers for a living (mostly ambys and jeeps). He's got that kind of a workshop for it.

Experts, your thoughts on replacing the chrome pipe on the rx with a first generation catcon (the biggest one)?
          I've got a 100 and 135 at home.
I got a cat for 500 bucks and tried it on the 135. I actually like it and am thinking of getting one for the 100 too. The going rates are from 650-2500 bucks depending on where I ask
