Could someone give me a ballpark figure for cost involved.
Do Bajaj Service centers have painting department? Like most of the car dealers have. If yes, would it be advisable to use there services?

Coplay@180: What is a panting booth?
Bajaj does have a painting department, I would say one of the best. I got my Kinetic repainted at Rahul Bajaj (don't ask me how)
A booth is a closed air tight painting room where there is heat&moisture control, so that no dust or moisture enters from outside. Bajaj has a similar setup at some of their SVCs. Do check it out.
Even though it may cost more, the job will be top notch.

I know of a place on Kamanahalli Main Road where there is a paint shop and he paints vehicles. He sells Standox paints and I think he charges about 2K for the entire bike. There is a bike washing place on the left of his shop, and a Auto parts shop to his right. These are located very near to the circle which leads to the ring road on the right side (I think that road leads to Nagwara, but I am not sure).

Lacquering is also done behind JC Road and he charges 1500 for the complete bike and takes about an hour or so.

There are a couple of other places in Banaswadi which do this, but I am not sure. Give me some time and I can find out.

Most manufacturers use 2k paints, Dupont, Duco etc . My painter used Duco for my ride and the results were Fab.

I have got a quote of 8000 for dismantling and painting my Fiero with laquering. TVS would be getting the work done from outside. I think the quote is on the higher side. Please give your recommendation.

hi guys..is there any similar painting faclility available for honda bikes too??
The black paint from some parts(stand, engine mud guard, beneath foot rests etc) is chipping off from my uni and i was wondering if the entire black frame can be repainted...and quite recently i had a fall as a moron suddenly stepped back while he crossed in the middle of road and hit my bike due to which lost control, bike skid and scratched the front visor..thankfull to god i was safe with just minor injuries
so just thinking if i need to get the black painting and polishing done at the same time...please advise if there is any place in hyd for doing this.thanks in advance

I got my Fiero F2 dismantled, touched up&lacquered for Rs.2000. Chassis&underbody not painted. If you are doing the entire thing it should cost about Rs.3000-3500, depending on whether it is a paint booth or not. Rs. 8000 is not acceptable. Even showrooms will not charge you more than Rs.5000 for painting within their own premises in their paint section, which has temperature control, dust control etc. etc.

As of date the painting for a RX would cost you any where between 6-7K including chassis, tank, engine covers, etc and other metal parts. This is for stock paint scheme only. For graphic painting add another 2-3K depending.

Probably even more. It really depends on, from whom you get it done.

Isn't this topic wrongly started here long back in 2009 of a bajaj pulsar paint job in two strokes thumpers and exoctics. and now a yamaha RX 100 paint job thread merged?? i think it should be in universal topics

                              just my suggestion no offence

Near J.P Nagar, YarabNagar to be exact there is the famous Moli Saab. But off late his work has also become poor as he has no skilled labor. He charges around 7-8K for painting and RX.

It mainly depends upon your mechanic and you if you know the guy well he does it at a reasonable rate, but if you dont then they take you for a ride...
