If possible get a polyurethane clear coat . This will protect the paint on your tank from petrol spillage . It gives a great shine and there is no need for buffing .

The finish is worth a million...
I have had my RX re-painted about 5 years back for 4K and the finish is top notch even today...no signs of fading off or any other problem.

I agree its gone expensive but the quality of work is also achieved...they do a fab job at the end of it all and thats what matters.

Yarab Nagar Moli Sahab is known from the days RX was first introduced.
Hes off late lost his charm as hes gone old and lost much of his trained workers.

There's SSD painters close to Yarab Nagar, Near Dayanand Sagar Colllege who do pretty decent job. They don't take up touch-ups or cover-up jobs as they are booked all year long and hence demand a premium.

I am having 1994 Rx-100, though the fuel tank and its paint is still genuine and still shines, but some parts have got quite dull, the red and white stickers have gone yellowish, paint has swollen at the area near yamaha monogram, rust has developed where tank meets seat area,my residence is near Pitam pura, south delhi/ and lajpat nagar is some 25kms from my home same is the distance for Nizamuddin, i was looking for a genuine painter, who is having the facility of stove enamel, i want the paint to be like the OE quality, will be very happy if you can provide address or ph no . of these painters.

Hi Kusmaker, Stove enameling (baking the painted job at 120 degree )is not necessarily required to attain OE quality paint job. more over it can be only done for Fuel tank(metal parts). you can always go for good painter who does proper painting process like stripping, tinkering, welding (if any required) surfacing (grinding) priming (epoxy based primer), tinkering, filling, sanding, base coat, actual coat, clear coat and dry it in humid free, dust free environment. Since preparation job gives the best and long lasting paint surface in terms of look and quality.

That's true man preparing process is the most important part, but most of these painter does this basic part in open environment which is very bad for the final paint part, getting an dust free environment at any painters shop is quite difficult, secondly painters always use paints of there own choice ,one can't force them to use Dupont or 3M paint. That's why i asked some good painters address in delhi.
