@thanks and sorry if my statement confused you. what i meant is that present bore running first oversize doesn't need rebore = second rebore.

no direct effect on low end torque because of this mod. this is just a extra cog on the stock set up of 4speed sprockets.
but ofcourse after the engine overhaul bike feels much more lighter and the feel of punch is increasing as i pile more kms on odo - setting carbon deposit or is it just that my feeling. but as of now 'm enjoying my ride except for the chain cover rattle and false neutral. and also it is easier to achievce 100+ on odo now.
    It didn't strike me

Good to hear you are enjoying the bike. Happy riding

      First-up - congrats

Now just to clarify - you are running a First OS 4speed block kit with a stock 5speed Gbox and the CatCon ?

it would nice if you can give the break cost for the work done ? that would nice for people planning a rebuild on a similar lines

during vacation time i had enough time to ride my bike around city: man it pulls as if it is riding on a torque wave on a surf board: it pulls and continues to pull and it pulls some more . it might be the thing with all the rxs but this is the first time 'm experiencing on my bike. and 'm all .
somehow i feel the above phenomenon is more evident when the weather is cold say late in night or early morning.

            thanks Arvind!
            and the break-up..

            gearbox 'kit' - 2,600
            crank bearing - 2 nos - 280
            clutch plates - 180
            GB Oil - 180

these are the few major parts: apart from this many things were replaced like all seals for GB and bore kit (which are mandatory), chassis paint touch up, engine de-carb etc. total cost to me was around 5,100/- for both engine and GB work.

You say in your earlier posts that you have added a 5th gear 'cog' to your existing 4 speed gbox, now you say you have installed a gearbox 'kit' which is 2.6k !!!

Did you change the whole gear box assembly ?? or you paid 2.6k only for the 5th gear .. ???

gearbox kit: 'm not sure what all the things were included in the kit but it is not just the 5 speed final cog that went in. kit included the 'shift cam' (again 'm not sure: but thats how it looked),axle and other few things. couldn't take pics as my cellphone had drained out of battery. but yes this is not the complete gear box. it is specifically called conversion kit. had heard of the similar prices from other sources too.

and about my earlier posts: yes we have retained 4 speed gear ratios and 5th is added(even as i ride i can feel that) . i was not aware only a 5th cog can be shoved in on the stock set-up.

PS: after a hard ride i get some kind of burning smell and i suspect it is from engine. is it the 2t oil or something else. can anybody help.

nope i did not collect the GB.. but it was not a complete GB change. and there were not many things left to be called as gearbox either. anyways i would be visiting him soon for the GB oil change ('m almost done 350kms after change.. waiting for another 100-150). if the price for whatever parts he has added/replaced is too high then . but then i was told what he is doing: i should have done some more home work. anyways 'll ask him when 'm over to his place this weekend.

Ask him the old gearbox if he says this is new why do u need to change the gbox oil at 400 odd ?? not needed man its good for atlest 1500kms ( depends what oil did you use)..

i feel its not needed anyways its your call and the burning smell might be due to excess oil or excess lean do check across..

thanks Psycho, 'll get it checked. most probably it is running lean (might be the reason 'm getting more mileage then expected)
