bhargava_sr: thanks. yep at rear it is Michelin 3.00x18.Originally posted by bhargava_sr View Post2.75x18 MRF Zapper-FS should be a perfect fit on stock Rim and will also give a pretty good road grip.
For rear its better to have 3.00x18 (Mich or MRF Zapper-C)
NitinGirish: at present i have the same front tire (CEAT) : soon 'll be upgrading to Michelin : 2.75*18Originally posted by NitinGirish View PostI use M45 3.00 too. No skidding experienced. However, I am a conservative rider under wet conditions. But on dry surface excellent road grip.
I use CEAT SECURA 2.75 for front. I am not sure if I should recommend that. I think 2.5 will be more 'nimble', perhaps give better acceleration F.E.
I don't think for such an incremental upsize rim change is necessary. It is certainly news to me
Sandeep: thanks , i think 'm going to continue with CatCon: but might try z silencer just for some time if the seller is willing to spare it for couple of daysOriginally posted by Sandeep_K_Ram View PostYup. Keep the CatCon. It is worth some money actually

hi,
'm facing a problem wrt chrome mudguard touching the rear tyre under load

most of the times i ride the bike single and suspension set-up is perfect for me. it is on second 'soft' mode. but when i ride doubles the chrome guard scrapes/touches the rear tyre. will the setting the suspension on harder setting would solve this? one mechanic near my house said that the springs have gone bad and got to replace them. what other options do we have. is there any way we can increase the gap between tyre and mudguard by pulling the mudguard away/upwards?RX 135

To me the rear chrome mudguard seems to be bent ..
changing that would solve your problem, invest in a new pair of shocks, changing springs doesn't help either ways.
EDIT : try changing to new shocks first then if its still touching change the chrome one too, please dont lift teh chrome mudguard, it will be like blonde girls :PLast edited by psycho 98; 01-25-2010, 06:03 PM."Engine tuning is not an exact science, but with some practice and patience you'll get comfortable with your skill and be able tune for any conditions mother nature throws at you"

Looks like the mud guard is bent. But maybe you should first get a pair of new shocks and then check it out.Last edited by Sandeep_K_Ram; 01-25-2010, 10:55 PM.

For the cost of tinkering and labour you will get a new one."Engine tuning is not an exact science, but with some practice and patience you'll get comfortable with your skill and be able tune for any conditions mother nature throws at you"

phew that's a looong post and sorry for the poor quality pics.
this was jsut the engine overhaul and gb mod. 'm planning for cosmetic restoration a little later. chroming, painting, new panels, monogrmas
cheers,
som
that was long back...
after that for many months i was waiting for right time. and was also looking for 5speed bore. first it was rare later it became really costly and now they have almost disappeared!!
after few days the urge to restore really got better of me and i thought i would get atleast the chassis in good in condition. thus started the process:
rust on chassis:

few parts before restoration:

sealed beam headlight:

monograms:

in paint booth:

powder coated silencer:

finished chain/engine cover:

WIP:

this process took more than 45 days for full completion!
now this looks like YAMAHA RX135:

Amassing man !!! Every time i see a RX come to the this condition it just makes me love the bike even more. Am gald you stuck to the originality, Specially with the maroon color. (there are too many black ones on the road)
Reminds me of the days i got my RX-100 done. Nicely done.
Where did you get the painting done in Bangalore from ?
Just seeing this thread now.Hows the 5th cog on the bike, is it really worth the pain or feels just like an overdrive???sigpic

thank you kb100!Originally posted by kb100 View Postsuperb job man......the bike looks stunning

it says autopal on the box.. IIRC it is of some mini truckOriginally posted by yamdoot View PostWow. Super neat job there. what headlight dome is that?
yeah i wanted the super stock look.. i could have gone for the metallic colour but decided to go for this. and this is maroon + little amount of black mixed as just maroon was little too 'orange' to look at the shop.Originally posted by Race_Developed View PostAmassing man !!! i don't remember the name of this place.. but it is very famous and costly too. 'll get the place name in some time.
5th cog: well for me first 4 are perfect for the city ride.. almost feels like riding a cloud of torque. 5th does help in more top speed but its not very tall compared to 4th. i just use it like a 5 speed bike in city. but changing well above 70kmph from 4th to 5th gives that push.. i like it
it is the stock 5th cog from a 5 speeder but with 4Speed sprocketing it is taller then stock final ratio of 5 Speed (final ratios of stock 4Speed and 5Speed are supposed to be same).
thanks a lotOriginally posted by gabriel_john View PostHey dude Great Job on the restore , The bike looks amazing

please do it soon. though it is resource consuming but it is well worth it.Originally posted by dual disc 200 View PostBeautifully restored mate...! I'm moving by inches towards my restoration of my 5 speed added with great care...Hoping that soon it'll be up..!
