      update:

changed GB oil : filled it with Agip 4t Red - it was thick and red.
Clutch was adjusted. Gear changes are much smoother now.
False neutrals are less: but still present.

      Query:
How does the RXZ silencer fare on the RX135 4 speed?
Is it any better then cat-con that I am currently running for performance?
I am aware that cat-cons provide good back-pressure- but would changing over to RXZ's will deteriorate the ride quality in city?
Is it just bolt on or Would it require adjusting the carb or jetting once swap is done?

i know too many questions.. help please

I would suggest RX100 chrome silencer and 135 flute.
Cat Con silencer are too heavy so that will add weight to the bike.
If i am not wrong it should weigh more than 8 kgs.

@Karthik: RX100 mmm.. and 135 flute: you mean the internal 'filter' inside the silencer correct?

'm aware the cat-con is heavy: but plus point about it is that it provides a good rideable back pressure.

and i've two concerns if i opt for changeover : missing back pressure (torque) and tuning needed for the carb.

how is rxz silencer? i like its short and upswept look. so rx100 chrome silencer is better than that of rxz?

Yes inner flute is the muffler.
I have seen people happily plonking a cat con and later switching back to chrome ones for more performance(back pressure in your words).
It also gives a good exhaust note.
tuning i dont think is needed but you will surely get to know if it needs any.

I give a pass regarding the RXZ silencers. Can contact SandeepRam or Psycho98(Pradeep) regarding this.

cat-con is the stock silencer the bike came with. i was just interested to know how would rxz one would fare. AFAIK SandeepKRam prefers cat-cons (Shakeela) over rx100 ones (Shreya - not my words )

@Psycho: how would be the rxz pipe on rx135 4 speed perform? is it any better?

EDIT: oops Psycho replied before me: @Sandeep: what silencer are you running currently?

I have tried many different "types" of silencers

But to compare the chrome setup and the cat-con : I prefer the catCon - the bike is far more refined with it and despite the extra (somebody quoted 14kgs IIRC ! ) weight and some obvious performance loss (also revs a bit less at the top) it feels more torquey and rideable to me.

I believe the 5speed catcon and the 5speed Z catcon are the same. Its just the grey paint on the latter that is different. Mechanically the engine/box and catcon are all the same on both bikes. I think the "Z-CatCon" is just a myth : I might be wrong but I haven't seen anything to tell me otherwise - if somebody has some solid info - please do post it here.

Hey i am interested in buying a RXZ 4 speed silencer if anyone is interested in parting with his.

And im currently running a RX100 silencer, it sounds much better, though yes the low end is missing.

If you want better performance from the cat-con silencer, remember to open it up from the backside and clean the insides well.

My offerings to the gods of speed -

                      - KTM Duke 200
                      - Yamaha RXZ 5 speed

no new news on gb: "it is a kit consisting of shift cam, drive axle and the extra cog etc": this is what he had to say. it is running old gears with the new 5th cog.

if 'm not wrong this is the shift cam that was lying in his garage:

i intend to bolt on chrome z silencer. guess i would have to run with it for some time before deciding. but everybody says do not give away the cat-con keep it with you: but i don't want anything like that: i don't have space neither do i intend to keep interchanging them.

                            update:

                            @psycho: thanks for correcting :-)

i always wanted to get better tyres for the bike. the CEAT sports had very weak grips in wet conditions and would skid often.

i wanted to change both front and rear tyres but they didn't had stock for front tyres.

                            got Michelin M45. 3.0 * 18: for rear

but while fixing the tyre the guy at the shop said the bike would skid because the stock rim base is designed for 2.75 width: if you shod it with 3.0 tyre it would skid. now is that true? i thought 3.0 * 18 for rear and 2.75 * 18 for front are the stock sizes.

and what tyre size (width) should i get for the front one: 2.5 or 2.75?

2.75x18 MRF Zapper-FS should be a perfect fit on stock Rim and will also give a pretty good road grip.
For rear its better to have 3.00x18 (Mich or MRF Zapper-C)

I use M45 3.00 too. No skidding experienced. However, I am a conservative rider under wet conditions. But on dry surface excellent road grip.

I use CEAT SECURA 2.75 for front. I am not sure if I should recommend that. I think 2.5 will be more 'nimble', perhaps give better acceleration F.E.

I don't think for such an incremental upsize rim change is necessary. It is certainly news to me
