Just fixing the CDI will not change the timing. Timing is changed only cause you are using the 90/110 kit. close the air screw 1/2 turn and see whether the starting trouble is sorted. Otherwise, RX100 has a 20 pilot jet , try it if you can get one. just see the whether the engine is getting over heated. if not the bike is almost set up right.

how the brass (stator) plate? turned fully clockwise /fully anti clockwise/middle?or if you extended the fixing slots towards which side?

I might sound little dumb here. I have just fitted the CDI unit to the bike. There is an option of Curve2 which I have not done. Since I do not possess enough knowledge, thought would stay away from other options.

The grunt sound is not an issue to me, in fact the bike is peppy now.
I asked about the sound because it tells about the engine timings.

My simple policy is that, if I'm not sure would not indulge. Little knowledge is dangerous.

So you mean to say that there would be some starting problem? ( 4-5 kicks to start the engine?)
I meant, because the engine starts with some 4-5 kicks after the CDI change, it can be because of advanced timings. Richer pilots would help but the main issue is that, wrong timings can lead to detonation. Just check that out.
              Replies in bold.

Its easy for guys who have used the kit. A guy who can play with RD's ignition like you and me. Everything seems so easy. He's a first timer.

It is not new. It was already there. I will try play with the timing this weekend.

Got stuck with work for few days.

I have planned to revisit the installation of CDI and also what has been advised above.

                          Update:

Today I adjusted the timing position and it worked. I did not face any starting problem.

Visited my mechanic and rechecked all the installation procedure to be sure that I did not miss any per RDD instructions. There was nothing missed. Thank God.

Then the timing was then adjusted to the right position (slightly advanced). Between 2-4 degree than stock. Then the airscrew was adjusted to right position and made sure that it is not lean.

The bike started of with a roar. In the evening, again started the bike in just a kick.

I'm going to monitor for few more days to see how it is going..

grt.. what was the procedure followed for adjusting the timing in degrees? what position is the needle clip on? you have to be a lil careful about adjusting the carb n besides, its hot these days.

I had the document for installing the RDD kit downloaded from RDD. In that they had given detailed information on the timing adjustments with diagrams helped alot understanding. All that was done is the 90/100 RDD coil plate positioning was adjusted and little bit of playing around the air screw to get right setting. Offcourse I did not play with the needle position since I do not know what should be the right one.

In the document, it stated that there are two ways of doing the timing adjustments, 1. drilling hole on the coil plate ( however I have RDD lighting kit had already came with position adjuster meaning there is slot kind where we can move the plate around to adjust the timing). The second one was to rub or grind the pillar of pulsar coil a bit. They strictly emphasised to try either and not both.

Let me know if I had followed the right way to get it adjusted.

filing the pillar slot or making extra holes is for OE coil plate when you use RDD CDI.

In casr of 90/110 kit , it comes with custom stator plate and magnet drum. The custom stator plate has a arc like mounting slot so that you can adjust your timing by turning the stator plate by just loosening the mounting screws.

Sriram, did tou further extent the arc like mounting slot ? also did you use a timing light to set the timing right ?
