Another way: I found my own way to get the bike started (though seniors can pitch in). I always try kick starting with kicker positioned at the top. If it doesn't then moved the bike a step to get the kicker compression from top and let go to start.

I suspect some loose connection somewhere(God make it real) as I don't want to be on the state where RDD CDI blowing away (silly thoughts)!
99% loose connection/ corroded grounding. Check fuse box too. they are prone to get loose.

to all guys who are changing to RDD CDI. Do change your HT Coils to Zma (white in color) OR the cd100 ones. That way you don't have anything old in the electrical department.

Update:- The wires have messed up slightly and fearing might interchange the connection, so pulled out all the connection from RDD CDI and connected the wires to that of stock CDI. It worked. I'll be introspecting the RDD CDI kit during the weekend. From the look it does not look damaged nor any burnt smell. Almost two years had them with out issues.

The bike runs decent. But missing the grunt and free revving.

Update:- Weekend spoiled by Cricket and Sunday recovering from the previous day. So did not have time to sit with the bike.

                        Hi,

Are the RDD CDI units still being sold new? I couldnt find any info about where to buy them or the costs ...and on the rddreams website, they dont have an address listed, and theyve stopped new user registrations, hence cant post on there.

fluttering after changing the degree of piolet

i've changed the angle of my rxz pilot but its was working well initially wit a noticable increased pickup then later on it started fluttering during the initial startup n run for 2 to 3 min.
can any one give me solutions

YOu can short the white male in the small bunch which basically is wasted spark off and the bike will start in 1 kick, but thts the shortcut to the problem. If you want to actually resolve this then you would have to play around with your pilots. Also even though the preferred timing by RDD is 24deg. ideally you shud make the groove a little longer and trying different timing in increments or decrements of 1deg and see where the bike behaves better,

Some ppl said it worked at 22 deg for them and some at 25. So it would be wise to play around with the timing and stick to the timing tht works best for you.

If you just want to get rid of the points and the hassles of tuning them everytime etc. etc..... then the kit is for you. A great points replacement system. Is also good for the price!
