Re: Spare parts thread 2 strokes Yamaha RX family

All of the cheap cylinder kits which are available in the market are mostly chinese make, these chinese makes starts from rs2500/-, but the product is utter crap, life is only around 20 to 25000km, one of my friend had used these chinese ones on his rx100, and his block only lasted 15000kms.

I have a friend that bought a block of cast iron for 900 rs and got the original specs and sizes and got the block machine out on a cnc machine or something for his ax100 suzuki I think for 1700rs and he bought the piston etc and his bike was running fine, he said hardened aluminium blocks can also be used
Why not look into something like this?
    Just my 2 cents:thumbup:

After market cylinder kit? for RX? To save some penny if you neglect OE cylinder kit, sorry to say you may regret at future.

Since you asked, there are few local made cylinder kits available (don't remember the brand) ranging from 3500 ~ 4500.
Some branded piston + rings on those cylinder will give a better life & performance.

I think Yamaha don't provide separate connecting rod, but you can look out for seeco connecting rod(if iam remembering the name correctly), another connecting rod is from aromaengineering.

We have seen when Yamaha would start supplying bore kits for our beloved RX, it is very disappointing to see someone wants only aftermarket kit. Save the world.

Also, er.Parneet - you get only the crankshaft assembly which includes connecting rod but they are not sold separately. Crankshaft assembly costs around Rs. 4000/-.
