After walking for nearly half an hour in jungle, on slippery rocks and crossing a small water stream we finally reached the place we were waiting eagerly. We kept our bags and shoes near the waterfall on a dry rock and started admiring the true beauty of nature. While chatting with Satish(our local guide) I understood that it's not even the 10% of the waterfall's true potential and size. During June-July the waterfall can be seen in it's full glory and is so powerful that one can't even imagine going near it. People from all the near by villages storm the place to admire the waterfall and it's beauty.
Enjoy the pics!

This pic will give you some idea of how big the waterfall was.. Just look how small we look in front of the fall

The place was so beautiful and we were enjoying so much that it was very difficult for us to leave the place behind and start the return journey. But after enjoying for almost an hour or so we decided to start the return journey.
But to our surprise, Satish(guide) showed us an even bigger waterfall during our return journey. This page has become way too heavy and hence will post the pictures of the other waterfall and those clicked while riding back home on NH17.
To be Continued..Ketan Nikharge.

But we simply loved this place and am sure we'll visit it again soon. Will definitely let you know if any such plan comes up

the first teaser pic strongly reminds me of the april mahabaleshwar camping g2g....ironicallly both the treks were done in search of water

Yeah Mitesh, pics look good even though they were clicked using a cell phone camera. This place surely deserves another visit. I may go to Ratnagadh near Igatpuri on 1st Oct night. But this time with a big group and by car or trainOriginally posted by mitz View PostAmazing pics bro.. Great clicks. I'm really looking forward to go there again soon

After enjoying the beautiful waterfall for nearly an hour and half it was time to pack things up and head back to the village. The waterfall was so refreshing that we didn't feel any fatigue at all. The weather was on our side as well. Tasty chips which Mitesh had brought was a nice surprise and perfect for that occasion. We all had some chips, put on dry clothes and started walking towards the village. But just after crossing the small water stream, Satish told us there's yet another waterfall which is even bigger than this one.
Automatically we all started following Satish and boy.. what a sight it was.. The waterfall was HUGE! Water was gushing down with full force. Sound of it was just awesome. The place from where we were admiring the waterfall was a bit risky. A slanting cliff edge with slippery rock surface. One slight mistake and you are sure to fall at least 80-100 feet down into the waterfall.
I'll let the pics do the talking now
Satish guiding us to the waterfall..

Finally, the return leg of our trek started leaving the waterfall behind..

Getting back to the village felt very easy as it was a downhill descent. We thanked Satish upon reaching Kherwadi for guiding us safely through the jungle and giving us all the useful info. He told us there has never been any fatal accident at the waterfall till date. Plenty of animals can be found in the jungle but no big cats. Snakes can be easily spotted. In fact while coming back Satish spotted a big snake in the bushes but by the time he called us all and we reached the spot it had disappeared somewhere. Sad
One sincere request to those visiting this place in future, Please Please Please do not spoil such a wonderful place by littering and throwing plastic bags near and around the waterfall. When we visited this place it looked absolutely clean and without a sign of plastic bag. Even we did not throw any plastic stuff around. Places like these are nature's gift to us. Let's preserve it!
Coming back to log, We promised Satish yet another visit soon and gave him some money which he initially refused to take. Took all our riding gears and got the water bottles filled at Satish's home. Locals looked amazed after seeing us in our riding gear
While coming back to the village, Mitesh told me bout his plan for the rest of the day. Najmuddin had never been to Alibaug and hence Mitesh wanted to visit Alibaug which was kind of on the way. He invited us as well but we didn't have that much time. Had to reach home early. So once we were back on NH17, Mitesh decided to leave for Alibaug while we cruised slowly towards Mumbai clicking photos and enjoying the nature around

Nothing much to write about the return ride. Enjoyed the roads till Vadkhal but after that till Karnala Bird Sanctuary it was a pain. Saw a dirty accident near Pen where an Ambulance had hit a Toyota Qualis head-on.
We were hungry by the time we reached Panvel. So we decided to take a pit stop at Shree Dutta snacks. While having food I noticed I had missed darkknight's call while riding. Called him up and he agreed to meet us on JNPT road. After half an hour we hit JNPT road. DK was waiting for us at our usual meet up point. Was good to see him in a new hair cut
The earlier one sucked big time
We all left for Mumbai after a brief chat with DK. Sky was cloudy and it was gonna start raining any moment. And it did. It started drizzling by the time we reached CBD. Mandar waited under the bridge to avoid rain while we moved ahead and lost track. We stopped ahead on Palm beach road to catch up with Mandar. Shot a video on Palm beach road and finally Mandar left for Thane from Vashi. The drizzle had then turned into a very heavy rainfall. We got all wet and rain was with us till we reached Sion. Not a single drop of rain at my place when we reached there.
An awesome awesome ride had finally come to an end. A day well spent. Yet another unknown place explored. The journey goes on.. what next?
---------------
I have some videos that we shot while trekking, of the waterfall and some while riding on NH17. Will post them here after uploading.
Thanks for reading the log. Waiting for your comments
