Sorry guys for the dead thread. I lost my bike recently so was in a very bad state of mind. I'm still coming to terms with it. I even rode my dad's bike like it was my baby and met with an accident. I miss you and will cherish you always ! my first bike, Yamaha FZ-S !

No need to buy a DSLR for good pics. Any canon cam in the range of 7k to 10k will be enough. There will be enough time to buy a DSLR.
          hahahaha... coming up !
thanks for the suggestion bro. will see to it.

Something seriously wrong!!! You lost a ride, then you're meeting with an accident...hmmm...time's not in your favour though. Stay cautious for sometime.

This thread might have been dead, but its not over !

I totally forgot about this thread !!! So sorry !! I still have a lot of pictures to share to bore you people !

I've grown alot as a rider in the last 2years. Yes, its been 2yrs since the ride, feel stupid updating this thread after 2yrs !! lol The chennai guys will know what i've been upto, for others, now I ride a P220 which is more to my liking as a tourer. I've gone for a lot more rides but not a long one yet. Was planning a Chennai - Mysore - Mangalore but dont know if it would take off, but I will joining the chennai team for a proposed ride to Goa. Am raring to go, and this time with proper riding gear !!

Without further ado, I will update this thread to the proverbial end, which is me taking a pic of the final odo reading !

I went through your thread before making my recent solo trip to yelagiri for reference. Didn't go to jalagamparai falls since it was summer. In fact I just noticed that we have clicked a lot of pics in the same spot. Guess I'll be in your place after two years with proper riding gears.

                        Happy riding bro

On top of elagiri to Jalagamparai below..

My last post stopped just as I entered elagiri. Here is the rest of the story, well almost !

This is Elagiri ! Really !! There is this huge artificial lake, which seems to be the main attraction.

I reached there close to noon, the place was deserted !! And very hot !! Rookie mistake but I was on a high from my first long distance ride to care !!

As you would have seen from the first pic, they offer boating on the lake. I saw a couple of couples getting on.. Yes in that sun !!

I asked the watchman nearby and he said this place is super crowded usually, I dont know what was unusual the day i went.

Farmland everywhere ! Even on the hilltop, love the greenery !

Thumb rule of touring, keep yourself hydrated, I think i drank 4 or more bottles of water that day ! And icecream for desert ! Had lunch at elagiri hotel, which was again empty. Had a light meal and left elagiri for the falls down hill. You see I was on a tight schedule here.

                          I was standing here for a good 5-10mins !!

He expected a fee for posing ! Very friendly monkeys actually..

On the way to Jalagamparai falls.. Elagiri was seeing alot of construction work that time, i guess it will all look very different now. A scene on the foothills.. Construction work just looks ugly !

The following pictures are just PRISTINE, BEAUTIFUL country side !!! Just loved it !!

The road leading to the falls in narrow and 13kms long and you could easily get lost as it breaks off in a lot of places. I asked this guy for directions, and I was dumpstruck !! I was facing language problem in proper tamil nadu he couldnt understand anything i could say.. the same thing happened with a old lady later. There was the issue of accent plus the pronunciation itself was different.. I had to ask for falls, kutrallam before i found out it was "neer vizhchi" ! it was embarrassing to say the least.. I guess not many outsiders go there..

I was at times thinking I was lost, at times that I was in a lost world and others that i would be robbed !! It was exciting !!!

But there were houses, probably every 1km or 3km !! And we complain we are not living in the centre of the city !!

I was driving really slow, I cover the 13kms in probably an hour or so.. the ride was just too scenic !! I love the farm lands, farm houses and the country side !!

A cell phone tower in the middle of apparently no where !! I had full signal every where.. Vodafone rocks !

Little houses and big farm lands in the city its the inverse lol !!

Almost there !! I tried a panoramic shot but couldnt so here are two pictures instead.

Will be posting the BIG FALLS soon. Got really confused with using picasa, the pictures now get uploaded to google+ ! Two years ago, google+ dint exist !

Why 2years for riding gear? Be inspired now ! Hahaha.. do share your pictures, am pretty sure elagiri looks different now with all that construction going on plus I just used a mobile cam your pictures will be better lol

I was also inspired to do this roadtrip after reading an another ride report on the same route.
