But then I guess Karizma would not provide the comfort and the baggage carrying capability that an Enfield would.

hey an enfield 500 will be the best buy.. bucket loads of torque and power..... easy pulling in 2nd or 3rd gear while other bikes struggle in 1st gear... ride a 500 2 believe me..... yes fuel does freeze in extreme temperatures.... although never heard of anti freeze fuel.. if fuel lines get clogged the most simple thing 2 do is lite fire under the engine area( but pls be careful).... n the Indian Army is always there 2 help u there...Rubber Smokin\' Angel!!!!!

I own a p180 currently. Satya, what if petrol freezes in the tank itself?
As for the bike, i'm looking towards test driving the new Thunderbird 500 due to be launched in August.http://www.angelfire.com/ab7/dariusbuhariwala/180i.gif

Buying an Aquila is possible if one wants to. U can either get a good secondhand piece or take the japanese aquila which is directly imported through these dealers. I had my eyes my eyes on a white Aquila with one of these dealers, but it has a price of 1.5lacs which may prove to be bit above budget.http://www.angelfire.com/ab7/dariusbuhariwala/180i.gif

I have!! But the things that make me feel negative about going on it is the seat
It really makes a mess of ur butt at the end of the day+I doubt its capability to run continuosly on high speeds like 90-100kmh (read about stalling prob etc)
On the other hand it would be great machine with respect to neat power, excellent mileage etc.
What do u guys think about taking the 180 for such a trip?http://www.angelfire.com/ab7/dariusbuhariwala/180i.gif

I was thinking of going for the Aquila if its REALLY worth it for long touring. Cus I want my second bike to be a "Weekend getaway" kind've bike only meant for touring n stuff. I was thinking that if Thunderbird fills that slot, why go for an Aquila anyway.http://www.angelfire.com/ab7/dariusbuhariwala/180i.gif

hmmmm i think ur rite.. n kinetic has fooled us by degrading the aquila and then getting it 2 india.... pls dont thin of takin of takin the 180 4 the trip coz seat( bullet seat can b changed as per requirement) , ridin position ( on tbird back is straight while on 180 u have 2 stoop a little)
39 days means a lot of luggage
im sure in 1st gears n steep slope the 180 WILL wheelie n u dont need 2 worry abt that on the bird
+ load capacity of bird is much betterRubber Smokin\' Angel!!!!!

Exactly!! The Bird has loads of torque and gives a repectable mileage + plus he seat is wide enough to get the full butt comfortablely placed on it. Even the Thunderbird will give buttaches but much later than buttaches of the 180 which start after only a few hours of driving.http://www.angelfire.com/ab7/dariusbuhariwala/180i.gif
