Its not enough to know how to twist the throttle; you must have judgement to know when and where to do it.

                Hi Ramesh,
Thanks. When are you planning your trip and why solo can I ask ? As for me I plan my trips so that my wife can come along. We rode down to Mercara (Coorg) on a 1989 Kinetic Honda scooter last month. Have posted a thread on the ride. It should come up shortly. I dont think I could manage even a 50 k.m ride solo, I,d get totally bored, I,m sure. But then I guess you must your own ways and reasons.
Will keep you posted about our ride as we do it. Am still trying to figure out how to upload some pics.

                Good Luck & Take Care

@ridermax: To Madkeri in a kinetic honda????? That takes a lot of patience and time buddy. That's the reason you haven't figured out the fun of a solo ride. Do a short run solo you will get familiar with the fun. Kindly go through this Uploading Pictures on xBhp - A Tutorial.

Have a dream trip in mind, which is been quite long since I did a road trip also.

                    Chennai - Vellore - Kolar - Chickmagalur - Mangalore - Kasargode - Kannur - Mahe - Kozhikode - Chavakkad - Cochin - Kollam - Trivandrum - Kanyakumari - Kulasekarapattinam - Tiruchendur - Tuticorin - Keelakarai - Devipattinam - Thondi - Kottaipattinam - Adiramapattinam - Vedaranyam - Nagapattinam - Karaikal - Tarangampadi - Cauveripattinam - Chidambaram - Pondicherry - Chennai.

Around 2500 KMS, a complete triangle and 2/3rd of the entire route is on the coastal roads, both West & East Coast.

                    Any suggestions...
I am onto something very similar in December with my wife. Just that I start/finish in bangalore.

Hope to catch you with other Chennai xbhpians during my trip.

@ ridermax - Great to hear about your ride.... riding solo is fun as phanikar says, put on ur ear phones and have some good music....start cruising stop where ever you feel like for snaps and rest on the side of the road when u feel like.

Riding in groups also has loads of fun, you learn a lot during those rides and riding with friends is always fun...to stop at tea shops in groups and answer questions to ppl around there and so on..

                        Hi there Ramesh,
Been rambling aroung so much that I totally forgot what the original topic was. Was just thinking about it and well, I do have a dream ride, though I,m sure it wont be fullfilled. Too many if and buts and hows.(any way, dream ride so why not ?) But I sure would love to ride from New York to Los Angeles on the freeway.
I travelled by Greyhound bus from Miami to Dallas many years ago. It was a 36 hour journey and just looking at those roads made me wish I could ride on those routes.
But then here we are, burning rubber in our lovely country. And yes we still have a million miles to explore right here in our beautiful land.

                        Cheers

                          Yeah Phanikar,
I guess fun comes in different colors. May try a solo ride as you suggested. Meanwhile we have a couple of rides already planned. Next month to Kanyakumari and to Goa in April. The first ride will be on a Yamaha RX 100 and the Goa ride will be on our Kinetic. I know it takes a lot of patience and time, not to mention the butt ache, but then whats the hurry ? Getting there is I guess more fun than reaching there (?).

Thanks a lot for the info on uploading pics ! Really appreciate it.

                          Good Luck
                          Cheers

Agree with you on the solo riding bit. Just haven,t tried it yet. I did many group rides during my bachelor days with friends. It was great fun. Now the wifey equally loves the long rides just like me so we make trips together.
