Most probably, Chennai Group will be moving out in 2 groups on 10th March, 1st at 0900 to 1000 hour and another by 1300 to 1400 Hour. We are planning to take over night break at Trichy/Dindigul and start fresh next day morning (11th March). Does this work out in case we guys want to join Bangalore Group ?

The 10th March group will be left waiting in Trichy for a looong time if that's the case!

And *all* of you are starting on 10th?? Then why different times 3 hours apart?

Bangalore is starting on the 11th Morning and we are riding all the way on that day it self!

Since the riding distance is around 600km we are splitting the ride dates into 2. There are two groups starting on 10th March. As of now we are planning to halt at Trichy and continue the next day (11th March) to Munnar.

But I still dint get why 2 groups on the same day that too just 3 hours apart

Nobody from Chennai is starting on the 11th I take it then? Btw is Night riding on NH45 a good idea?

Yeah, but I hope morning batch guys (Ninja's and Comet at 1000 Hour) will be reaching Dindigul/Trichy and relax there as they don't want to ride in night even for an hour

(Sunny/Sriram correct me if I am wrong) and they all got whole day free and thus they want to start early in day so that they don't get struck in Hot Chennai climate in afternoon.

Second group guys will be finishing there office early

and start at 1400 hour and then try to reach either Trichy little early or Dindigul little late. Then we all can start (both Ninja group and late comers

) at same time next day (11th March morning).

Just one of: Taking lessons from previous TSG2G, it is was decided to split the riding dates. Last time, during our return, the participants who were very confident came and asked our lead to go slow as they were not comfortable riding at night.

We don't want to rush to Munnar in a day by starting early on 11th and ride the entire day.

We chose to enjoy the ride!

Some calendar confusion going on my laptop. Anyways its clear now!

There are basically 3 groups from Chennai.

1. Starts late morning
2. Starts early afternoon
3. Starts on 11th Morning

I am just a bit worried about the second group coz they will end up riding in the dark on 10th!

EDIT: Just ensure you guys have the lead/sweep funda's cleared out!

@Bangalore Junta: Its going to be a really early start around 4-5 AM. You have 2 weeks to get mentally prepared

Early meaning ? . Not before 5- 6 AM at least . Its for safety for newbies also .Let them get a proper sleep before that .

We are riding whole day , so a proper sleep is a MUST on 10th night . 500 kms is like 12 hrs ride with average of 40 kmph .So even if we start by 6am we will be there by 6PM - 8PM in night.

Driving in the hills @ Night is safer Vs. Starting Earlier?

Think about newbees like us .I know you are super fast ,but others ? .Anyways , any time is ok for me after 5AM

Guys... riding 600kms on Nh7 is no big deal. I did my first ever long ride, tvm to b'lore via Nh7 in 12 hours flat.. that was approx 750kms... And then, you are riding in a group, so there is no chance of boredom and sleep coming in.... you got to give yourself more credit...

You Sir are calling yourself a newbie

I might be super fast solo.. not in a group!

Well look at this way, one can always sleep early on the 10th night.

The benefits of starting early with proper sleep, far outweigh than starting late.

- We avoid the crazy Hosur/Krishnagiri traffic
- We don't need to stop at Chinnar for breakfast, instead we can stop at Thoppur.
- We ride in the hills in daylight, when it is safer and one can enjoy the scenery.

I still vote for an early start. Riding in the hills at night in such a large group is a real bad idea!

Anyways its a planned start of 1.5 hours earlier. I'm sure that can be managed by everyone.

Start time should be around 5AM!
