Sure. I just used the old mobile phone pouch of the Nokia 2700, a leather pouch with magnetic flap holding the top in place, and hook to attach to the belt. I took a nylon strap like the sort used in bags and after looping it through the air vent of my helmet looped it through the belt hook and secured it using a patch of velcro. The remaining length of the strap would now loop around the mobile phone pouch while also holding between it and the phone a rather large piece of sponge foam which i pasted using Feviquick, the sponge giving the necessary upward looking angle so that camera looks forward. Another patch of velco at the end of the strip finally secures it firmly.

So far it has given me decent videos. I also bought an extra BL-5C battery so that in case of long rides when one battery is exhausted, I can replace the battery and continue filming the ride,

So we have two more drop outs. Somanath and Dr. Noel!

@Praful, Swaroop got accident today by return ride from Munnar after booking the rooms for Intersate G2G. Bike Handle hooked in the back side of a bus and fall down...His FZ side fender and riding suit damaged Luckly No head injury or bone fracture but knee scratched...he is now at home. Get well soon Brother.

Yeah Lijo called me at night after our E2G in the evening...just talked to swaroop...luckly he escaped because of riding suit and Helmet..but knee was damaged because he didn't have the knee guard. Thank God for nothing more physical damage to him

Zero Incident Ride

Crashes are part and parcel of a biker's life. But we can avoid them to a very great extent. So, I'm requesting everyone, each individual who is coming for this ride to please ensure that you'll do your part to avoid any mishaps in this ride. And when everyone does that, we can achieve an incident free ride.
At xbhp, we promote Safe Riding. Lets set examples too...

@Bangalore Gang:
As discussed and agreed up in the Pre-Ride today, we will be meeting at the point at 4AM and starting at 4.30AM. I would suggest everyone stick to this timeline, for those who find it too early, please sleep sooner the night before or play the catch up game. We are not going to start later coz we don't want to miss out the scenery while climbing Munnar and we don't want to climb the hills in the dark.

For those who dint make it for today's Pre-Ride, please ensure you have tanked up the previous night. There have to be no delays while starting for the ride. If we need to cover this distance in 12 hours or under we have to be really really disciplined in our riding. The first stop we are taking will be for breakfast, at the Thoppur A2B which is approx 150 Kms of riding. We will be doing about 150 kms at a stretch so be mentally prepared for this, as we need to save as much time as possible as long as we are on the median separated NH7!

In the words of Lijo, "Please carry a extra bag of patience"

Things will get a lot more tough once we are past Dindigul. It will be a 'Single' lane highway all the way from there i.e. the last 150 Kms of the ride. Please! Please! Please! be very careful on this stretch. Its very accident prone, there a lot of crazy bus/taxi people plying on this route as its the same route for both Kodaikanal and Munnar as well.

We will be on NH7 till Dindigul, after which take a turn from the Dindigul Bypass towards Battalagundu on NH45. The route post Dindigul is :-

Points to Remember:-

- Reach the meeting point by 4AM. Later comers will have to catch up at Thoppur!
- Tank up the night before to avoid any starting delays.
- Please carry a bottle of water with you always. Its going to be dehydrating hot once the sun is past 11AM.

Krishnagiri is almost equidistant for us and you guys. But stopping over at Krishnagiri and waiting for you guys to sync up with us is going to break the rhythm. I would suggest you ride ahead and meet us directly at Thoppur A2B.

@Chennai/Coimbatore Gang: I think syncing up and riding together would be out of the question for us. You guys ride ahead and reach Munnar since our ETA at Munnar would be approx 5-6PM. You all will get late waiting for us needlessly.

@KL Gang: This place is in your backyard, I don't think I need to tell you guys anything

guys put me in tentative list .. last moment changes happened ... i'll come to know abt my joining ride status by wednesday ...

BTW .. in anycase i didn;t make it .. i'll be joining friday morning to send of u guys ... might ride till some distance with u guys
