Welcome xBhp, Gq37, and all the best for your journey ahead.

Yes BMW has started operations in India now, but i don't think they've 'officially' opened any stores here, but once they are open Delhi and Mumbai will be in the list for sure.

and India, barring some exceptions, is a safe place to travel, but you have to be alert all the time. it will be tough to give a list of all the places you should avoid, but once you have your rough itinerary in place, i am sure you'll have lots of good advice here about which place is safe and which is not.

Btw, what kind of contacts are you looking at?

          Welcome to xbhp gq37advrider.
Yeah, its me from advrider and I will put up my indian GS ride report in 1-2 days.

You can have a wonderful time with your BMW 1200GS Adventure in India. Its generally safe in most parts of India & dont be paranoid about mugging etc. Just follow the tips I gave you. Although the official launch of BMW bikes in India will happen in another 1-2 months, the dealers in Mumbai & Bangalore (Navneet Motors) have already started delivering bikes to customers. Their website is Navnit Motors - BMW Dealer Mumbai and Bangalore home

Ride safe & have a great time in India.

                  Hi gq37advrider

First of all wishing you all the fun and safe riding in India... So GS across India for 3 months sounds fun heading North - South ...

As Haroon says, I guess its one of the best bike to tour across India with varied road conditions and yes we all are waiting for his log from the recent Peninsular ride

I am from Mysore .. Once your final route is up... will let you more about places in and around Mysore... Hope to meet the GS and you on your Trip

You starting from Bangalore ? I read you plan to start and end the trip from New Delhi... Anyhow looking forward to your final route plan

Nice to hear that you are already done with farewell...btw when will you landing in India

                        Regarding route:

You can ride through Jodhpur- Ahmedabad - Vadodara - Daman
instead of Mandu via Banswara & Ratlam.

If you can share what kind of places you want to visit,I can suggest specific places.

Do keep good amount of time for Rajisthan, it has a lot to offer.

                        Ride safe ride long
