@ remobangalore- I am surprised to hear that. Every time I land in Bangalore, I keep wondering why people use their horns so much, but once I start driving it becomes clear why it is needed. Most of us who ride abroad rarely use the horn, cause everybody follows the right-of-way/yield at intersections, roundabouts, entry to main roads etc. Whereas, in India its like playing a video game, when you can suddenly see people, vehicles & animals popping out of nowhere (esp on highways), so it was me who advised gq to be lavish with the horn till he gets a hang of indian traffic conditions since I know very well what it is to control a 350-400 kg fully loaded GS to unexpected surprises!

Haroon nice comment. IMHO use horn sensibly. Something like on a blind curve, Intersection / cross roads. Its not necessary use horn on a straight road or in traffic jam. I get irritated if someone honks continuously though they know the traffic jam is there. Even some crazy riders (20-50+) do the same.

@ gq- Nice pics and hope you are enjoying India
If you read my ride report, at the end I also had problems with my GS horn...but somehow fixed it as the problem was lose contact on the removable connector that fixes on the horn.

Anyway, the BMW has a single bosch unit for hi/lo frequency. I dont think something exactly similar is available in India, but you can buy a 'Roots' or 'Hella' horn which has 2 separate lo & hi frequency units and fix it to your crash-guard. Just that you have to run one additional wire directly from the battery to avoid the Canbus being shut off. I shall forward you a PM of the link that I received from Jim Von Baden at advrider before my trip. Its very simple & if you print the diagram & take it to a good car-electrician(in a big city) he can easily do it for you. The Indian horn is cheap, loud & reliable and fitting should not cost you much.
