Nice trip log! By the way you could have choosed the other route via Manali - Rohtang. Chandertal also falls in the same route. There is another place called Lahoul after Rohtang which is also a very beatiful place to visit.
      Cheers!!

        SORRY for the delay

        Day 4 5th July:

At Nako, we slept early because of the tiring Day3 and woke up early at 7a.m. If we would have not been into tight schedule we would have loved to stay at Nako for one more day. Anyways early morning inspected bikes, cleaned-lubed chain, checked tyre pressure and moved forward towards Kaza. But before starting we were informed that Maling would delay us within 10-15kms. One question here - Why these "small rivers" called nalas, when these can sweep us if they want to. Prepared ourselves and crossed it, it was easy may be because it was 9a.m in the morning. I would think twice after 11am to cross that.
        Videos:
        Before Maling Nala
        After Maling Nala
As we went higher my health specially my high B.P was actually playing with my stamina, but I was firm that I wont stop till I reach Kaza (quite stubborn I am ). We stopped in between for breakfast/lunch, stopped several times for shooting the amazing landscape we were surrounded with.
Reached Tabo at around 12 in the noon, visited monastery, had a little chit chat, filled up our big tummies and started again. To be honest it was a good decision not to stop at Tabo, it would look like "Bhoot wali jagah" at night .
Then after riding sometime we all stopped near the riverside and met two German riders on enfield (hired from Karol Bagh), interacted with them for few minutes. We were quite sure that we would meet them at Kaza.
By this time my B.P has gone back to normal , but I was feeling that I would be in fever and same happened as soon as we reached Kaza.

IMPORTANT : Now starts the real adventure. First of all in these trips never trust any locals when it comes to ATM and money things. We were informed that there is an ATM at Kaza, and we were happy because in total we three had 900INR in pur pockets, which was not enough not even for Hotel Rent, leave aside food.
As soon as we got the hotel , the hotel owner , a nice natured lady gave us the room keys. We unpacked and went into the room. I informed Bishal that I have fever and I wont be able to join them for ATM, I would withdraw cash at night and I went for a deep sleep.
After 1 hour they returned and gave me a shocking news that some bugger has poured Bear in the ATM and it wont work and it will be working when someone would come from Shimla to repair it.
To be honest at time we all were cursing that we should have withdrawn money and kept with ourselves.
At that time the hotel owner gave us an idea that we should deposit some money in her account and in the morning she can go to the back and get it for us. Indeed a brilliant idea and helped us too.
We called our respective homes (Note : Since Narkanda we didnt have a single network in our cell phones).
Next morning the money was deposited in her account and we got the money. To be honest she really helped us, next time we go there, we are going to stay in the same hotel.

Just read the whole thing today - nice write up and beautiful pics with some lag in updates
Wish i am able to do Spiti next year and also wish my parents are more supportive in touring on bike.
How tough is spiti on bikes and did you face any issues with the AFR considering your rtr is the carb'd one.

Thanks Rajat, lags are due to some issues. Its a place which can be experienced better on 2 wheels (IMO), it can be done, not easily tough.
AFR issue was there when we were doing Chitkul, otherwise it was absolutely fine, idle rpm that I kept was 2k

Log will be updated today evening/night

                      Day 5 6th July:

Ok after last day's "money" ordeal, we were happy that we have found out the way to get the money. We three lazy people slept till 8am in the morning as were staying there in Kaza on this day and would be visiting Kee-Kibber monastery today. We had enough fuel to visit those places and come back. We requested the hotel owner to get the money for us, and we left towards the monasteries. Just to cover around 30-35kms we took numerous breaks, not because of the roads but for the view, its indeed a place to visit, the serenity, the calmness, the pinch of cold in the air , everything was so soothing. We visited Kibber first and saw it was all empty, the reason we found was that it was Dalai Lama's birthday and most of the monks have gone to Kaza to celebrate it. The head monk welcomed us with all warmth, and the way he treated us was like he was welcoming us, while we climbed the steps , we were falling short of oxygen , he gave us herbal tea which within minutes cured the problem (I am going again there to have that), stayed there for sometime, and to be honest I dint want to take any photographs because its better to leave an old place like it is, without any disturbances. By the way he was quite fascinated by our Helmets.
After that we planned to go to Kee, its nearby though to Kibber. As soon we entered the village, it was all empty (literally), we asked the way towards Monastry by a local lady, she pointed towards a hill climb about 500-600mts at angle of atleast 60-70degree . We asked whether these bikes would be able to go there as it was a very narrow path, she nodded in postive. We started and just after 10mt, we knew that it was going to be tough.
As we reached there, it was close, reason as mentioned above . Anyways we took some pics and started to go down and believe me when I say IT WAS TOUGH THERE. We decided to stop at the rest room for lunch, but actually it was those foreign ladies whom we saw while entering the village that we stopped there. And we "shareef ladke" had our lunch and went back to Kaza, without even interacting with them, all though I was flattered on one's sweet cute smile.....Haaayeeeeee !!!!!!
We reached Kaza and while getting petrol for our bikes, saw a foreign couple in leather suits going towards Kee-Kibber, Guess which bike it was BMW 1200 Motorrad with Akrapovic cans...It took us sometime to come out of that. We went to hotel, did our chit chats, pulling each other's legs, had dinner and slept.

The Apache bikes seem to have done a good job.

To make your day, here is another set of Apaches on another continent!
Have a close look at the windshields...useful for touring I guess.
