Yeah i remember i saw you and Mr. X zooming past us @ Ambala Bypass. We were initially going via Manali but we headed towards Pathankot because of bad weather at Manali. That's why we were waiting there at the bypass just to take a call.

More than the tour part, I'm looking forward on what happened between you and your "friend".

As per me touring with another person is very tough, 3-4 days with a particular person 24hours can lead to conflicts. I've been there and I've learnt from it. Never ever go touring with a guy who you don't trust or who doesn't trusts you.

Day 1

Its 2:30 a.m.

The idea was to meet at 3:30 a.m., so I make haste. Mr. X wanted me to wake him at 3:15 a.m.3:00 a.m.

4:00 a.m.4:30 a.m.

No harm done, we continued our ride, well behind schedule but hey! Who cares? The ride till zhilmil dhaba was un eventful, and we made good time reaching there by 6:30 a.m. No rains till now.

It was a 30- 35 minutes break and soon we crossed Ambala bypass and was on the Zirakpur- Chandigarh route. With rain gods threatening we increased our speed but on the turning towards Shimla, it was raining cats and dogs. We were forced to stop under a flyover and quickly changed into rain gear. As we approached the hills the intensity of the rains went down but the occasional rain would continue till Narkanda.

Our ride till Shimla was awesome as before, wide roads, great tarmac (though wet and threatening), and beautiful scenery. I tanked up at Solan, as this was one of the last pumps where I can get Speed (91 octane petrol). Our lunchtime was somewhere between Solan and Shimla and soon we reached Shimla. Manoeuvring through the Shimla traffic was quite hard and the rain gods were not making it easy for us either. Slowly but steadily we continued and crossed all the mayhem. The road inclination and tarmac quality deteriorate significantly after crossing Shimla and we could never guess what lied ahead as now on hindsight this was much better than having no road at all. At kufri the intensity on the rain was too much for us to ride ahead and as we were quite wet and cold to continue we took shelter in a bus stop.

Delhi

6:00 p.m. Soon we located a decent hotel with somewhat safe parking space for the bikes.
