Thanks Harsha... the roads are superb till Kanyakumari. 4 - 6 lane roads.
          1) Bangalore to Hosur have a few bumps and potholes.
          2) A diversion near Madurai, highway is blocked because of a brigde construction on the national highway, diversion will lead you through the city bypass and back to 6-lane highway, another option is riding on the bad patch for a few minutes and hit the highway again to avoid city hustle n bustle.

The butter smooth roads invites you for a full throttle, I did till an extent. I wish I had a 600cc+ bike ! Bangalore to KK can be covered lightning fast.

Day 2 : Finally we had a plan: Bangalore to Kanyakumari.

            Route: Bangalore – Hosur – Krishanagari – Salem – Madurai – Kanyakumari. (660 + kms)

We spent night at our friends flat at Electronic city, and since we were returning to Bangalore the next day, we kept some of our luggage there. Had breakfast and rolled out. With greenery all around, riding was pleasure there... We took a halt for 5-7 min after every 130-150 kms.

The restaurant where we had tummy full of breakfast before we started the ride from Bangalore, the second guy from right, Pratik, our host for the evening . Thanks a ton buddy.

            Somewhere near Krishanagari...

            Amidst discussion...

            Jinson enjoying the hot tarmac..

Tough time in Madurai: DK said Madurai’s Meenakshi temple is worth watching, hence we decided and to enter the crowded busy streets of Madurai where we lost 2 hours due to heavy traffic. Already late in schedule, dropped the idea to go inside the temple and left. The temple was indeed worth watching, beautiful carvings and sculptures.

We crossed the last toll booth before Kanyakumari around 9 pm and took a stop when a man came by, looked at us like we were aliens and asked, “Toura??” We heard a word similar to “tour” so we all noded yes. Asked him about the food and accommodation, he said look for accommodation at Tamil Nadu Govt. tourism hotel in KK, however, it would be better if we have food before KK since the food is costly there. Later on he mentioned that he’s a retired navy officer. We thanked him and stopped for food at a small but good food dhaba (35 kms before KK).
We went to TN govt hotel but they said we need to inform them before hand and book the rooms. So we went in search of a lodge, got a room for Rs. 400 per night, which was walking distance from seashore.

            Kanyakumari waters...

Inspite of that long journey, we went to the shore at night, just to check it out... DK's power nap there..

Day 3: The sun was never so beautiful !!!! Sunrise at Kanyakumari...

We downloaded as much information from the lodge owner about the place and places to watch and scheduled time for each thing. He gave us this list of tourist attractions:

Woke up at 5.30 am felt like it was a mela around.. .devotional music playing loud enough to wake whole Kanyakumari up... the lodge owner also knocked at each and every door saying that the sun is about to rise. When we reached at the shore, it was already crowded.

The lighthouse... visiting time 3 - 5 pm (missed it )

KK view from the sea shore video: 0044 - YouTube

After the sunrise, clicked some pictures and stood in the queue for the ferry ride to Swami Vivekanand Memorial... we were behind 230-240 people by 7.30 am itself and the ride starts from 8.00 am. Thought of dropping that idea since it might get us behind schedule, so I went to the guard and asked how much time it will take, he said around 2hours to and fro!! But then he said one ferry can accommodate 150 people at a time. That was a good news for us. Bought tickets for 20 bucks per person. We got the second ferry to the memorial.

                Beautiful carvings on Coconuts....

Came back, took a bath and road bound again.

Kanyakumari to Bangalore. Distance to cover 650+ kms.

We had our lunch at the same hotel where had food last night. Looks small but tasty food in typical South Indian ishtyle..

Too many windmills along the road...

The video shot through the mounted cam on my handlebar.. NH 7. Massive windmills and windmills.

                Somehwere near Bangalore...

We were already behind sched and we left kK around 1pm. My bike was a little rough also the chain was touching the swingarm, so I decided to change my engine oil and tighten my chain near Bangalore...we also had dinner at a dhaba near the mechanic. Reached Bangalore around midnight. Crashed on the bed straight away. Next day Goa!!!

                  Day 4: Bangalore - Hubli - Yellapur - Anshi National Park - Karwar - Margao - Goa (Baga) [730 + kms]

Before leaving Bangalore, we transferred all the pictures and videos to our pendrive and also clicked a snap with our dost and host..

                  Nice Road, Bangalore...

We wanted to ride through Anshi National Park, so we chose the above route. We wanted to cover as much distance in daylight as no one knew the road conditions ahead. The sun was already down and we had to cover 100 kms to reach Karwar, that is Goa-Karnataka border. Riding in moonlight on the ghats and though dense trees on both sides was great fun. From south goa to central goa in moonlight with a glimpse of the sea was even better. We reached Baga around 10.30 pm and checked in the hotel room (DK booked the rooms before we left Bangalore).

Yenna Rascalla.... Sumit Anna nariyal paani wala please don't mind it.

                  Controlled madness on road...

                  Before Anshi National Park...

                  Near Karwar, Goa-Karnataka border...

Day 5 and 6: Goa siteseeing, watersports and party like never before...

We all woke up around 10 am, had heavy breakfast and straight to the beach...

We visited Fort Aguada, Chapora fort (Dil chahta hai fame), both within 25kms from Baga.

The only prisoner (caretaker ) of Aguada jail...

Completely camouflaged Praying Mantis... lekin hamari tezz nazaro se na koi bacha hai na bachega... Praying for mercy.

Anjuna Beach (view from Chapora fort)

Watersports at Calangute beach in the evening. We bargained a lot for the watersports and did parasailing for just 250 bucks. Lucky enough huh?! When we were done with the parasailing in the middle of the sea, the man on the boat asked, “ Paani me kudna hai kya?” We asked him the charge for it, he said 100 bucks each, we spent no time and jumped in the water. With life jackets on, and we both being swimmers, we enjoyed the few minutes in the deep waters. The worst part: when we jumped, lot of engine oil and fuel stuck on our skin and in the nostrils. It also made our eyes burn and throat itchy.

Day 7: Goa to Pune. (480 + kms)

Left Goa at 11 am, topped our tanks at Mapusa, Goa where fuels rates were way cheaper than Maharashtra. Rs. 68.72 per litre!!!! We also took 8-10 litres of petrol in waterbottles. NH-17 was good enough, however, the road before and after Sawantwadi is under bad shape...too many patches of roads are under contruction. We rode through villages, the roads were good enough, but the ghat roads were bumpy. Scenic views of the Sahyadris, made us fresh and lively. We reached Kolhapur around 5.30 pm had spicy kolhapuri chicken and decided to meet at DK place once we reach Pune.

Recorded videos through mounted cam, covered the complete ghat section. Nice cornering videos too by DK, unfortunately, the size is too big (around 1 GB)...will edit the video, compress them and upload them soon. Till then the video recorded by Jinson on the ghats..
                        0043 - YouTube

                        Lift, anyone..!

                        Refueling the bikes...

Would like to thank DK, Ashish and Jinson for being great company.

Special thanks to my brother for the support and sponsoring the fuel

Beruoist (biru): update regarding the road conditions in South India.

All Pune xbhpians and last but not the least XBHP.

                        THE END.

I gave it a complete day and did it. The photo addition part was a pain, took more time than writing.
