    Thanks Biru bhai.

Yes, it was crowded and the tourists, gorey log were all around . My friend booked a hotel cum lodge in Baga beforehand. We stay the same place whenever we visit Goa. (It is after Manchester United club and before Tito's lane).

      Awesome road trip.

Enjoyed reading the travelogue and great pictures.

Just curios! Is carrying petrol allowed? I thought it was illegal to carry in any form of containers! Enlighten me please.

        Thanks lonely rider...

Yes, you are correct. Carrying fuel is not allowed, it is illegal.

We did it because we knew the road ahead doesn't have much police nakas and other stuff, also we kept the bottles inside our bags to avoid trouble. I would advice not to do so.

Ouch. That's bad. You guys took a lot of risk

Good that you were not caught. Had you been caught all the fun of the ride would have gone for toss.

If you are entering Karnataka from Goa there is a police check post and they check thoroughly. They ask us to open our bags also!

            Hi Sumit,
nice log and clicks too.., wanted to know road conditions between Hubli and karwar via Yellapur X road...i know roads get better and butter smooth once we enter into GOA border..but what is the present condition of the roads between Hubli and Karwar like..., traffic by mining/ore lorries and tarmac condition especially on this strecth.UK(uttar karnataka/upper karnataka) doesnt maintains the roads well.

That's why I mentioned, we knew the roads ahead... it was already decided that we will take the other road through villages avoiding the regular road to enjoy the greenery and mountains. We carried fuel while returning from Goa to Pune only, i.e. the last run of our roadtrip.

BTW, we came across many nakas before Goa, but no one bothered to stop us.

Yes, correct. The ghat roads are in bad shape. Too many heavy vehicles on the way as well.
                Thanks.

I am glad you mentioned this here... while riding even we experienced the force of the wind flowing across the road. We felt like we are being pushed to the other side.
