Good to see a thread planning for LEH, i am too planning but not fixed ...

There are two routes where you can ride till New Delhi, so i was planning to explore both the routes, one while going and one while coming back. the two routes are as follows:

one which you have already posted and second one is :

Mumbai - Indore - Gwalior - Agra - New Delhi

Replace the words "I have to" with "I choose to" and notice the difference in how you feel.

Do not use the Mumbai-Indore- Agra- Delhi route. Indore to Agra is two lane and with very heavy traffic. Also the road is narrow and has no shoulders. Stick to Jaipur side.
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Give your details here if you want to help your fellow xBhpian stranded in your city

hmmm... nice .. but not practical

            Dude,,,
after riding for first 2 consecutive days, u can't ride for the third day without wakingup late in the morning.

I feel Jaipur to delhi & stay at delhi would be more better.

Then you can continue straight to manali with a break ( might needed )

Hi Dhiraj, I beleive following NH-8 is good as rightly said by The Monk. and also this is my first tym so wanna follow the most used route.
Anyways if u have good knowledge abt Gwalior-Agra route, we can have discussions on tht.

Remeber the schedule is open for changes.

Valid point. I will surely have a hard thought on that before finalising the schedule.

                        Pong to Leh (138 Kms)
Manali to Sarchu would be more than enough for you to call your Day 5. via Rohtang Pass (250kms)
You can do Sarchu to Leh on Day 6 which is another 250 kms. via Pang

PS : Pang is the place which should not be used for a night halt because you may suffer from AMS there.
Moreover you can get many tent accommodations in Sarchu itself.

I would advise you to postpone your dates. It is possible that Manali - Leh may not open by the 6th of June.

Yes, couple of other guys from xBhp, Icemang have also suggested the same.

I will have a watch on the manali-leh road status before kick off. If they will be closed by that time then will have to take the srinagar-leh route.

The schedule is just a rough work, hope to finalize it using inputs from all the xBhp guys.

                              Thanks for bringing it up.
