Am sorry to put this but it was a real "stupid" act that you did.
My parents have always been against me riding on 2 wheels and i guess most parents would. There is a percentage of thrill and fun to it, but not worth putting misery on your parents face. But you can certainly educate and gain confidence of your parents.

Call me a believer, but all I can only say is see 127 hrs incase you haven't and then decide for yourself

I watched the movie, and so, I now carry a 6 inch knife with me on all my solo rides.

But @Sunny, you should really inform your parents about your whereabouts when going on such trips. They may disapprove at first, but thats what motorcycling is about, getting them to trust you and believe that you can keep yourself safe. I haven't read the entire log yet, but I guess I have done a very similar stupidity on my longest solo ride (1667km one side in 28 hours + night halt). But have now promised that I will let my parents know all my riding plans, however absurd they may seem. They may not approve everything, but at least, they have the right to know when you attempt such stunts in the future.

        hahahaha

my mom dad still don't know that i went on bike uptill delhi... but i told my younger bro about this trip.. & showed him the photos !! .

MY FIRST !! i ll alwys rember this !!! a thnx to u all guys ,, u were the reason for my motivation !!!!

This is not brave of you dear. I am sure xBHP was never created to promote guys like you and acts like yours. The moment I read your triplog I had a doubt and I posted a query, you did not reply.

If something happens to you on a trip like this just imagine the state of your parents.

PS. In Gujarat G2Gs and Rides, all members are handed a form which states the route and plan of the ride, which they have to sign and also get their parents to sign, which forces the riders to disclose their biking plans at home. We have had incidents and can't take chances. Admins of the group here in Gujarat have gone to the extent of talking to parents of bikers to convince them to get proper gears and to allow their kids to travel along

Well the movie teaches more than just carrying a 6 inch knife.

The most stupid ride I have ever read or heard so far, which is full of smart assry. What's funnier is, you think it's cool to tell everyone that you didn't inform your parents about it! You are probably taking some pride in it. How stupid can it get?

I know and as you can see I realize it. Even MG the moderator did a similar stupidity when he started off from Calcutta and ended up at Delhi after his first solo ride. Even his parents had no idea..

But thats what we all are at some stage in life... a bit stupid. And the aftermath of stupid rides like these is what makes us all learn from our mistakes.

Now that sunny has done his adventure once. I hope he realizes the risk and also lets his parents in on his little secret.

You should have informed about it to your parents, even after leaving mumbai. Its too risky and u'll have thoughts running up in ur mind, loosing concentration on the road. The roads maybe butter smooth, but keep in mind its Indian Road. I did the same once but the whole trip was of 700kms and were 4 guys in 2 bikes. After that, I always inform about my plans well in advance (if planned from long). Parents aren't Hitler! They may scold, try to negotiate at the beginning but eventually when they are convinced about ur passion, skill, confidence, they'll give in. I am doing a Bangalore to Guwahati ride after few months and have taken the permission well in 6 months advance. To my surprise, my mom bought me a new pair of elbow n knee guards, a jacket and asked me to get a new better helmet asap!

Its never too late, hope you learn about the risks and the condition of ur parents in case of any mishappening.

Dear its not that I am not happy with your trip, its the way / manner in which you left that I am concerned.

Have seen lots of accidents and have been involved in a few as well. I worry for your safety and the well being of fellow bikers that is all.

You say you were in touch with 2 xBHP Members all the time, so they were more important to you then the 2 People due to whom you exist. Think about it dear. I'm almost double your age and have seen a lot of life.

+ 1. I've ridden without any protection on NH-17 a long time ago, nothing I'm proud off and nothing I would EVER try now but I didn't know better then. I also know some VERY experienced riders (including me) whose familiies will never know about their biking escapades simply because they (the family) are too conservative to ever understand the passion and yes these people advise friends of their whereabouts because yes the friends are perhaps more understanding and as caring and in a better position to help you should you get into trouble.

So quit judging people based on your own experiences with your own parents. It doesn't work the same for every one.

So yeah chillax everyone and stop judging so harshly and calling people names. There's better ways to point out mistakes and if you aren't mature enough to do it better then don't do it all. And stop giving references to movies like 127 hours. The movie shows him telling NO-ONE about it not just his parents. This is not the case here.

same thing here bro.it is even worse that my friends don't support either.
and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

#i don't subscribe to co-incidence,either it is the rider or the other moron on the road

(:)people keeps on saying add spark to life, bajaj got hold of that idea and added an extra spark to bike.

The thing I did was to find a mentor / experienced rider in xbhp in my city and asked him to help me through the first few rides and now that I know many in xbhp I too always pick one or two people who know my whereabouts. In addition I should (though I haven't yet) carry a card with my name, blood group and emergency contact numbers. I find BOTH measures essential. The card would help the cops ascertain who to contact in case I'm incapacitated/dead. And the friends who know my last known whereabouts could be valuable in tracking me down in case my wallet was stolen while I was incapacitated/dead and cops have no way of identifying me in which case enquiries by my friends could help put 2 and 2 together.

loved going through your trip-log,what you did was not stupid but a bit irresponsible on your part, but i don't blame you,my parents have grounded me from taking main city roads too,but who cares,to err is human,i made my share of mistakes on initial days,my initial days are not over yet,so lots of mistake to be done and to be learned from them,man..you can do correct things all the time.having said that i am skeptical about taking such a long distance ride solo,i had quite a few adventures alone but all of them ended in oneday and within my state.lets see if your trip-log gets me going.
