Sachin you need to complete that other log ASAP I need to know all the details before I start riding...

Original Plan
Day 1: Thane to Gir via NH51 Distance: 850kms

Day 2: Explore Gir

Day 3: Gir - Porbandar - Dwarka Distance: 270kms Notes: Explore Probandar and move on to reach Dwarka

Day 4: Dwarka - Rajkot via SH6 Distance: 222 kms Notes: Explore Dwarka and leave by 3pm for Rajkot. Try and reach Rajkot latest by 9pm and halt for the day.

Day 5: Rajkot - Thane via NH8 Distance: 685kms Notes: Ride back home

Actual Plan as it turned out be
Day 1: Thane to Gariadhar, Gujarat via NH8 followed by SH: 666kms
Travel Time: 6am to 6:30 pm

Day 2: Gariadhar to Sasan Gir via SH112 : 143kms
Travel Time: 8:30am to 12pm

Day 3: Sasan Gir - Somnath - Porbandar - Dwarka via NH8E : 275kms
Travel Time: 10:45am to 5:00pm

Day 4: Dwarka - Rajkot - Tarapur via NH8A : 440 kms
Travel Time: 12pm to 8:30pm

Day 5: Tarapur - Anand - Thane via NH8 : 475 kms
Travel Time: 7am to 3pm


Ladakh log will not be completed by the time you leave for Leh but you can always ask me anything and everything you want to know

Stay is very much within budget:

Gariadhar - Rs.250/-
Sasan Gir - Rs.700/-
Dwarka - Rs.500/-
Tarapur - Rs.300/-

Gariadhar and Tarapur were not planned stayed, I just halted as I did not want to stretch.

Close to Rs.4300 spend on Petrol for riding 2100 kms.
Rs.1000 spend for Open Jeep Safari in Sasan Gir Jungle and Rs.75 for Non Ac mini bus Safari in Devaliya.

But obvious Avi, You'll find wild animals on both sides of this road hence, they advise not to stop in between. We went straight all the way on the other side.

There was one turn which we did not take which actually connects to Route no.5 where there are more chances of spotting Lions. Hence, not to stop

Initial plan was to start early in morning around 2am and try to reach Gir by 6pm however things did not work out as planned. Hence, Started at 6:00am and only managed to reach Gariadhar where accomodation was available.

Note: Not all villages have accomodation.

No no.. Didnt ride.. But just posed..

Yes, sometime back I did most places of Gujarat including Saurashtra..
On this route, I had gone ahead doing Patan, Surendranagar, Rajkot, Junagadh, Morbi, Gandhidham, Bhuj And then coming back to Dahod to enter MP further.

Day 2: Gariadhar to Sasan Gir

Day 2: Gariadhar to Sasan Gir
Distance: 145 kms

Since we could not reach Gir on the first day we had to cover around 150 kms on the second day to reach Gir.
The ride was very pleasant in the morning however without GPS one could be very easily lost. My sister who came as pillion kept giving me instructions to turn left, right, etc.
We reached Sasan Gir at around 12pm. Halted at Hotel Leo and paid Rs.700 for the stay.
We visited Devaliya and roamed in Sasan Gir for the rest of the day.
